    Car rental & tolls

Actually, there might be some good news on that front. http://www.tollroadsnews.com/node/5306 Before this, the last thing I heard about possible interoperability was when I emailed the expressway authority down here to ask them about it, and was told essentially not to hold my breath...

    Car rental & tolls

I believe the turnpike is the only place where this has been implemented, and only in south Florida. I've never paid a toll in the Orlando area at which I didn't have the option of using cash or exact change. Be aware, however, that there are booths, especially at exit ramps, where your only...

    Security--- What If???

You're talking about replacing one security checkpoint with at least a half a dozen. You're also vastly increasing the amount of area inside the secured perimeter, most of which is not physically isolated at all. You'd need to erect physical barriers to prevent access to any square foot of...

anyone else heading to wdw ...

Definitely good news, but it could still regenerate, and according to the local news it will bring blustery weather to the area either way. It still bears watching... http://www.cfnews13.com/article/news/2011/august/290309/Emily-dissipates-into-area-of-low-pressure

entrance change to the seas w/nemo

Looked like they were making do with just water.

anyone else heading to wdw ...

That had to be Faye. Three days of non-stop rain. Very unusual for a tropical system, usually they're in and out in under 24 hours. Faye just parked herself right off the coast and pumped water onto us.

Just saw this, which might be of interest to you as well: http://thedisneyblog.com/2011/08/03/tropical-storm-emily-what-you-need-to-know-about-severe-storms-while-in-orlando/

anyone else heading to wdw ...

No guarantees of course, but it may put your mind at ease to know that when WDW closed in 1999 for Floyd, it was supposedly the first time WDW had ever closed for weather in it's history. Which I'm telling you to indicate that it is a rare event. Also, the current track of Emily has it...

    Man injured on Dragon Challenge.

I'm not sure they're ever going to know what hit him. Other reporting I saw about this had the victim saying that he was struck right at the point where the two cars pass near each other. That supports the idea that it involved another guest. This is really a shame. Also according to other...

entrance change to the seas w/nemo

I didn't stick around to watch, so I'm not sure how long it went on.

entrance change to the seas w/nemo

At least they didn't have to ruin the look. When I first read your post I was a little surprised, because it already seemed obvious (at least to me) that you weren't supposed to go in there with the characters. I couldn't imagine them making it any more obvious and was wondering how they went...

    Epcot's 2011 Food & Wine Festival

The festival goes on in the park during normal hours. Thus park admission gets you into the festival as well. I've been to Epcot during F&W many times, but I don't generally participate in the festival per se. What most people probably think of when they think of the festival is the kiosks...

Bummed about upcoming AP expiration on August 11th

I know this isn't going to be much help, but I found this blog a while back, might have been in these very forums in fact, about creative ways to "save" your way to Disney. Some of the things she talks about involve joining online programs that let you earn a few dollars here and there doing...

    MCO Parking

I've only ever used the on-site MCO satellite parking. It's about $10/day. I don't have direct knowledge of the shuttle schedule, but I'd be very surprised if they didn't run them at all times that flights are departing. I almost used Parking Spot once, because we had a coupon that made it...

Physical size and build not as big a problem for WDW as is for Universal??

That's what I was going to say. Plus, I thought I remembered reading a while back that some modifications had to be made to the boats - might have been on Small World but I'm not sure - because the fact that the population in general has - er, "expanded" - over all in the years since it was...

Is disney parks and resorts for sale?

I have to agree with flynnibus. "Massive" when dealing with sums of money is relative, and for Disney, even 2B dollars isn't that massive, let alone 2B Yuan. The article you cited clearly stated that the reason for the loan was to finance the park being built in Shanghai. I don't see the...

Casey Anthony is not guilty of first degree murder...

I agree. I was just pointing out that the prosecution lost a considerable amount of credibility with me over things like that.

Casey Anthony is not guilty of first degree murder...

I had an additional problem with this piece of evidence. The prosecution surmised from the fact that the mandible and skull were attached that the duct tape had been adhered to the skull. They surmised from this that the duct tape must have been adhered to face before decomposition occurred...

Casey Anthony is not guilty of first degree murder...

Given how he conducted the trial, I don't think anyone should have been expecting any favors.

Casey Anthony is not guilty of first degree murder...

Couple of points on this. First, that the prosecution didn't prove their case isn't necessarily a criticism of the prosecution. Now, I do have certain criticisms of the prosecution. But it's still possible for them to have done nothing wrong, and still be unable to prove their case, because...
