WOW - What a week at WDW

Yes, COLA is around 2% a year, but in recent years, minimum wage and tipped wage have surpassed that. You can argue the wage was stale, and justify the increase. Either way, I am sure I speak for a lot of people when I say 18-20% on top of an expensive dining bill can be hard to provide. I...

WOW - What a week at WDW

It was a simple theory that questioned as wages has increased over the last few years, should we reconsider the tip amount because some of that increase has been passed on to the consumer as higher food prices and included credit card fees.

WOW - What a week at WDW

You have to include the Tip credit. From you own reference: New York State law allows employers in the hospitality industry to satisfy the minimum wage by combining a “cash wage” paid by the employer with a credit or allowance for tips that the employee receives from customers. For example...

WOW - What a week at WDW

Suggesting that restaurant workers, that have had an average increase of over 60% in tipped wages over the years, are getting less because of a 8% tip reduction is poor math. Restaurant staff may feel the second and third order effects of this with less hours, and less people dining, but...

WOW - What a week at WDW

This post is too uneducated to comprehend. I am not sure your point. There was a fight for higher minimum wage, which included raises on tipped wages (which has almost doubled in the last 10 years). They receive a higher wage now, which is now passed on to the patrons as higher food cost...

WOW - What a week at WDW

I tipped 18% 10 years ago. Since then, the tipped wage has almost doubled. Should we still be tipping 18% or less?

WOW - What a week at WDW

No, just the opposite. I am questioning the reasonable tipping amount with the increase of the tipped wage.

WOW - What a week at WDW

You said "It’s customary in this country” (not just NY) when I was questioning still tipping at the 18-20% range when wages have increased for tipped workers so much in the last few years. You have to consider now: Automatic credit card fees on every transaction are now part of the bill...

WOW - What a week at WDW

In NY tipped wage has also gone up to $15 an hour, and a teachers assistant is $16 an hour. Explain to me why I should be tipping more than 10% again, at least in NY?

WOW - What a week at WDW

With the increase in minimum wage, is over 10% still expected? Increased minimum wage, increased in overall dining, and I am still expected to tip over 18%. I am sorry, not being scrooge, but shouldn’t tipping go down with the increase in wage?

    Where in The World?

Where is everybody? I took one look at this, and went to bed. That was 2 days ago. Sadly, I have no idea. But I will guess - A play area?

Sure, why not resort hop. I think there are now more hotels than attractions.

DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

I am sorry, I still just find the muppets in rockin’ rollercoaster, even with adults themes, to be very juvenile.

I am just genuinely curious, and then I will drop this. Do you really think (or want) the ride structure is going to change?

DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

I am not saying I hate the muppets, but I do hate the muppets in this context. Ms. Piggy, and hearing "wocka wocka wocka!", is going to be very annoying before getting on a coaster.

What? Are you suggesting Rockin Roller Coaster, being themed to muppets, is going to lose the launch?

DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

I am sorry, what is your argument? That there are health and warnings to advise families so that makes it family friendly? A coaster that does 0-60 in 2.8 seconds with 3 inversions is not something every family with pre-teen children can ride. I wonder how many kids are going to want to ride...

Muppets may be family friendly, but the coaster is not.
