Do you know people who don't enjoy Disney World?

Now this is just me and not meant for anyone else, but I could not imagine being compatable with a spouse that hated WDW. I think it reflects a lack of open-mindedness and imagination.

Attractions to skip for first timers?

Without knowing your guests, At MK: Tiki Room, Swiss Family Robinson, the Steamboat(name?), Snow White EPCOT: Maelstrom, Journey into Imagination, Nemo DHS: Backlot tour AK: Prime Evil Whirl. The more "zoo-like" aspects they could see at any local zoo? At Universal & IOA: Fear Factor, ET...

Physical size and build not as big a problem for WDW as is for Universal??

I can see the reasoning for US doing due to the types of rides. I squeezed into a similar ride some time ago and could barely breath once it got going. Big mistake. Since then I've dropped 50lbs with a small part of the motivation being able to fit into the coasters at US. Can't wait to go...

Getting down the cost of flying form the uk

I doubt you will find much in the way of any discounts anywhere. Yoda's tips are your best bet.

    NOT a cruise person

Our trip on Royal Carribean was great. You barely, if ever, felt the ship move. They are just too big. I thought I was not a cruise person either. On the third day my wife asked me why I eventually relented and went and I said, "I ran out of excuses not to go." I can't wait for our next one.

Is it time to allow well behave dogs in the resorts?

Who is to be the judge of what "well-behaved dog" means? Sorry, leave Fido at home.

Disney with a 4 year old or wait till he's 5?

My issue with young (below 5) kids is that they probably won't remember anything. So I would wait until at least 5, maybe 6. They may enjoy it at 4 (mine did) but they will not remember it. Bob

Would someone fill me in please?

I've only ever encountered 1 group and they were fine. But for future reference if I see one we'll go the opposite direction.

    Going with newbies

First-timers need to be told (repeatedly) a Disney "vacation" is like a trip up mount Everest. It requires significant planning, money, and stamina. It is not a vacation, it's an adventure. bd

Am i crazy to breakup with someone over WDW? Advice PLease!!!

Very simply, scrape her off and move on. It may be emotionally painful but you'll be glad you waited for someone that shares your interest in WDW. BD

Orlando High Speed Rail IS DEFINITE

MCO to WDW will never be high speed rail. I doubt it will ever see 100mph. HSR only makes sense over long distances with not too many stops. All rail lines are subsidized and never make a profit. I used to work for the company that made the MCO people mover. We also did heavy rail...

Where to stay with 2 Families?

I recommend this as well. There are some very nice places 10 mins from the gate. Take a look at All Star Vacation Homes. I have no affiliation other than as a happy customer.

From Wisconsin to Orlando for a week... Driving for the first time...

You would need a huge van for 7 people and luggage. They aren't cheap to rent. There may also be a charge for taking it out of state. IMHO, you probably won't save that much vs. flying. BD

Has the Carousel of Progress always had theater sensors?

In 2004 my daughter and I were on the ride and she desparately had to go to the bathroom. At the end of that act we stood up (ride did not stop, yet), walked to the back and went out the door. The instant we opened the door the ride stopped and in about 10 seconds 2 CMs had come around to ask...

where should I stay off base...

Look at some of the companies that rent houses/townhomes in, I believe, Windsor Hills. We used All Start Vacation Homes. Very good rates and you have a kitchen/laundry/more space. The houses are about 10 minutes off property, so you'll need a car. BD

    Christmas and New years

Once in a lifetime trip? If you really, really think so, I would very much recommend waiting until your son is older so he can remember it. One of our kids was almost 4 when we took them and she remembers not a thing. You may really enjoy it and your son may enjoy, it at the time, but you...

    Southwest Online Check In

If you have your daughter check you in then you can print a boarding pass at the airport. They have kiosks that allow you to do so. Your exact situation on the return flight is what the early check in is good for. It's done for you automatically. To be sure, once the 36 hour auto-check in...

    Southwest Online Check In

No assigned seats. The checking in at 24hr was a pain. Now we'll pay the $10 a seat when we have to fly SW. BD
