We will always stay in a Disney resort = I would think it would take away from the vacation to stay offsite. As far as the resort, I'm not that picky, can do value, mod or deluxe..just as long as I have acess to their transportation, magic hours, etc..:)

We usually park hop so what we normally do is go one day in the morning as soon as it opens and ride the safari, yeti, etc... then if we are lucky and there is an evening extramagic hour during our stay we go there then also - and our bunch of kids ride the KS over and over.. and leave...

1 - Polynesian - love the theme, pool and restaurants... got spoiled a couple times my MIL went and wanted to stay Club level on the water.. can't get any better than that! Especially at night when its time for fireworks! 2 - Wilderness Lodge - it is just so relaxing and comfortable - love...

Charms, taffy, popcorn bucket, beach towel are the usuals... then we tend to have many others that we pick up also!

We are a family of Disney snobs..LOL at our town's fireworks over the 4th I said it needed some music or a story! My daughter agreed so at the end her fiance started singing "When you wish upon a star" for us!..it was a hoot!

Where I live our local theatre has a night that the popcorn is free if you bring your own container, and of course I take my Disney popcorn bucket - so I can't wait to have a couple new designs!

Even though the water parks are awesome - we enjoy park hopping much more! We love to go to the parks late - for fireworks, dodging the heat, etc.. and swim at the resort during down time in the afternoons. We've done both and I feel got more out of the Park Hopper option than the waterparks.

Its late - almost 11:00.. I would hope it would be Extra Magic hours and in the parks - if not at the resort sitting outside the room looking at the water with a yummy drink!

Poly is my first pic - love staying at a monorail resort, has great pool and restaurants, rooms and theme. WL is my second pic - love the theme, relaxing feel, good pool and good restaurants there also. Plus we enjoy the boat rides!

We have stayed in all 3 with age ranges from 6-70.. and the Poly wins hands down...:) Stayed at BLT last year with 9 of us and it was super nice and close to everything but missed the 'theme'.. you just can't do much better than the Poly!

my MIL always has to have moleskin for her feet..and those little toothpick/floss things I usually pack a variety of OTC meds for about anything.. A&D ointment for gaulding and other ailments BATTERIES flip flops or watershoes to wear to the pool goggles for the pool

October 10-14... so keeping our fingers crossed for a deal to come out!
