    Jim Hill Media

The first time I met Jim (which is only 3x now), he sat down with 3 of us - who he didn't know from a hole in the wall, and spent several hours talking after one of the first Mousefest events (which I don't do anymore, but it was still early on before it got too big). Whether you agree or...

    the simpsons

We did a Universal VIP tour Saturday (we'd hoped to get a look inside, but it's still a hard-hat zone). We were told that it is due to open in March. Denise

WDW's holiday season kicks off November 12

I had been given a tip that the Osborne Lights might, and they did. Just not dancing. I was told by a manager that he didn't expect them to dance tonight, but he wasn't yet sure.

Holidays, Finishing Touches and Imagination (11/7)

Mousemerf - it looks like we were in some of the same places that day taking photos. :) (Yak and Yeti, CR, etc.). Actually, my last CR update was on the 5th. But I was at AK on the 7th to get pics there. :) The shop is supposed to open the day after Thanksgiving. Denise

WDW's holiday season kicks off November 12

I was taking photos at the Osborne Lights yesterday. They weren't dancing, but someone told me Friday to expect them to be on (and I was happy they were!) Denise

    Disney Dining Experience Changes

I understood at the time (many months ago, when this was discussed) that it was a concession for taking away the tips on the DDP. And groups were brought down from 8 to 6 for the automatic gratuity. I expect also that not all DDE members tip on the original bill. Denise

    Disney Dining Experience Changes

Considering that one of the stipulations of the contract was a tip on 6 guests or more (down from 8), it seemed contrary for Disney to state anything different now. This was what I expected (DDE and cast members, and parties of 6 or more, as was what the union contract said). Denise

    Deep Fried Oreos

My sister in law made us deep-fried Oreos once, they were VERY good. You can get some sort of deep-fried candy bars (not sure which!) at Cookes of Dublin next to Raglan Road. Denise

Yak and Yeti opening and reservation info:

I actually prefer stand-by to ADR's now, it will be nice to know I can get in somewhere! Denise

    Gingerbread Houses

The Wilderness Lodge used to do a wonderful gingerbread display with a train. I don't know why they stopped. And you never know, since each resort is run separately what they'll do. I promised someone that I'd pick up the Christmas resort pins for them next week (the day they come out), so I...

Yak and Yeti opening and reservation info:

I'm hoping to do counter or table service for lunch, the other for dinner Weds. I'm really looking forward to it, especially after all the rumors of further delays online. After being there yesterday, I didn't feel like it was going to be delayed further. Denise

Yak and Yeti opening and reservation info:

Yup! I took pics there yesterday, and the food smelled great (they are test-cooking now). Signs are up, there is a shop and courtyard area for seating. I plan to try both counter and table service the day it opens, I am looking forward to it. :) Denise

    Yak and Yeti

A manager told me yesterday (at AK) that they were still anticipating next week. It could be January, but I was over there taking photos - and there was cooking being done in the restaurant (it smelled wonderful!), and signage up. I wouldn't have thought it last week, but I wouldn't be...

    Trails End

It is one of my favorite restaurants at Disney. It also shares a kitchen with the Hoop De Doo, so many of the food items (like the fried chicken) are the same. I also enjoy the wagon ride, campfire movies, etc. at night. The campers there have decorations that are sometimes better than...

    SSE closed until Feb 18th!

I spoke with a guest service person (who seemed pretty up on what was going on with SE) the day after it closed. She said that it could be anywhere from "November through March" due to the extensive work being done. It sounds like it's going to be closer to March. Denise

Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo now open

I was there for opening night (quite by accident). The colors are very vibrant in both areas of the restaurant, I was glad to have my camera with me. Our chef was "Bob from Atlantic City" (I don't really know his real name, as he had forgotten his name tag and was given someone elses). :) Denise

Menu at the new Teppan Edo?

I ate there a couple of nights ago - the food was terrific, as it was at Teppanyaki. Lovely new dining room areas, vibrant colors. Very cool kids meal containers! (looks like a monorail, but is a bullet train). I was glad I had my camera that day, we didn't realize it'd be opening. Denise

    Tutto Italia Ristorante

I just had dinner there again tonight with friends. Excellent again, and I had the berries with cream dessert (I really recommend that!) Denise

    Tutto Italia Ristorante

I don't know what kind of fish, I am heading back Monday and can ask if you'd like. My dinner was excellent, you already know that! I wasn't expecting such good food - but it is pricey (you'll want to be on the dining plan, or the free dining plan!) As I mentioned also, the waiters in some...
