50th Anniversary Celebration - Dates Question

We are going in mid November because of the 50th anniversary (my first visit to WDW was December 1971!), because of crowds and uncertainty regarding covid, we never entertained going on actual date of Oct 1st, and yes WDW will celebrate 50th for at least a year

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

Sure, but DVC is an unique situation, that advance booking makes sense, but does not apply to the vast majority of WDW visitors

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

agreed but current 1/2 hr early entry is not really that helpful, full hour was much more beneficial to day planning and maximizing experiencing shows and attractions with minimal wait times/lines

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

Trips have to be planned a year in advance? perhaps for some folks that is the case or they choose to do so, but for many that's not the case (under 6 months more common-many can do so even closer). I recently booked trip for November, and yes I would like more clarity as to how parks will...

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

yes referring to demand, interest and number of visitors for 50th anniversary starting Oct 1st that will drive WDW planning in terms of how to manage crowds that will again to reach capacity.

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

I would expect 100% operations as soon as this summer and certainly by Oct 1st 50th anniversary

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

FP was not needed in 2020 to present, once capacity increases in coming months you can be sure WDW will look at FP options to reintroduce in some shape and form (including free or fee options)

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

for us having 3 FP+ booked in advance for each park day was all we needed and very helpful (along with in park rope drop to close) strategy to ensure we could see and do everything on our priority list. No idea what FP will look like in future, but with next trip in November it sure would be...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I never said, my only point was that CDC changed recommendations regarding mask wearing because science informed that decision, had nothing to do with supply of masks (yea demand for masks would then quickly exceed supply)

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

were did I say that demand would not exceed usual supply????? yes that clearly happened but point was mask supply was not factor in CDC recommendations about whether to wear one or not
  12. P

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

There is no evidence CDC recommendations on masks was based on their availability

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

The entire mask mandate (and bear in mine I wore mine as required) was on shaky ground when the federal government did their “masks aren’t required” then flipped to the placebo effect of “they are required” only when manufacturers had enough supply last spring. People can argue the merits of...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

No sure so sure requiring masks for plane travel with US is really going to present a problem, in fact domestic plane travel has been on on rise for months, including requirement to wear masks, seems like people who what to travel via plane within US have no problem wearing a mask even for 5 hr...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

It is actually a problem for those who can't get vaccinated and children under 12 at risk who also currently can not be vaccinated. People choosing to remain unvaccinated are creating a public health risk to others in our society

News Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours coming for resort guests

MK is certainly much higher than 40-50% capacity from Memorial Day into August, and some days would close or be 80%+. Not saying we will see those this summer but clearly travel and vacations are rapidly increasing and yes WDW will need to adjust staffing and other aspects of operations to...

News Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours coming for resort guests

nothing that exists today in terms of crowds, lines, opening times, park hours, and waits is going to be relevant when parks increase crowd capacity, what ever is "working" today is because capacity is still capped so low-that will rapidly change in coming weeks and months as visitor numbers...

I am not missing that reality, just that "doctors" who are anti-vax are not Drs.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

no one should be seeking medical opinions from a Dr who states they are anti-vax - if they make such a statement they are not a medical board certified professional Dr.
