    I am one of 100,000!

After reading your post I went to check my mail! I got one, too! :sohappy: Yeah! I have never been to IOA! It has been years since I have been at Universal, too. My sons have season's passes so maybe they will hang out with me for a day! LOL

    Shuttle launch in May

You won't regret making the trip to the coast. It is still totally awesome even when you have seen every one of them go up. It probably would be easiest for you to do a launch day bus tour. Just google space shuttle launch day tours from Orlando and you will find a bunch to choose from...

Impact of Universal Orlando's Super Bowl Offer on WDW?

Actually it is the first 100,000 to send entry in after each of their commercials so it depends n how many commercials they have bought for the superbowl.

Speculation of outbreak of Norwalk Virus at WDW?

I live here and the only place I have seen any mention of people getting sick in the parks is on the message boards. We really haven't had a lot flu or even colds etc. around here. I have to say people get sick even on vacations. If one person in your group catches something it is likely that...

    Lights, Motors, Action! accident yesterday.

Nothing in the news at all about any injuries at Disney. The car probably did what it was built to do-protect the driver. I for one think the show is a great addition to the park. It is even educational. They let you know how chase scenes are set up, staged, etc. and how it is not...

    Bud & BBQ Feb. 2009

Following up on my last post. Went to Sea World web site and it looks like Voyagers will be the BBQ place, but the menu for it does not include the brisket. It also doesn't say there will be 2 or 3 meat platters. :hammer:The menu also does not include my favorite pasta that I would get for...

    Bud & BBQ Feb. 2009

Oh my! So are they making the old hospitality house Smokey Creek or the BBQ place for good and not just for the Bud and BBQ? I guess because Manta is so close to Smokey Creek they are putting in a more kid oriented place to eat? Hmmm they better not get rid of our favorite place to eat...

    Shuttle launch in May

It would be really hard on the ground crews, though-even though most are different people working the flight. LOL Just had another thought---- With the launches scheduled so close it would cut the cost of sending the landing crews all over the world twice.( in case they have to land somewhere...

    Shuttle launch in May

I doubt that both will be launching in May. The one on the 12th is an 11 day mission. They have never had 2 shuttles out in space at the same time so doubt the one on the 15 th will launch that day. Or it could be the one on the 15th will launch and the one on the 12th be rescheduled...

What else to do in/near Orlando...

There's always universal, Sea World parks, you could do an air boat tour to see natural Florida, the beach is only an hour away, Kennedy Space Center, and even Old town in Kissimmee has a few good shops. There will be different festivals going on in the spring like Art Festivals in several...

    Living in Florida

Well put. And have a job lined up.>>>>> And don't be surprised if the job disappears after you move. I have known so many people who were offered jobs while they were living up North, moved the family down, and then when they go to the job to begin, they get the bad news that the job isn't...

    Living in Florida

I live in Florida but could never stand living in the center of the state. On the coast you get the best of both worlds. i have thought about moving back to Chicago area in the last few years so I would be able to help my aging family; but every time I get close to doing it, I realize I would...

Remember when there were only TWO Parks..( a Nostalgia Thread)

Just had a thought? How many of the regulars on here went to EPCOT for free with their class? I think it was 1988? Any teacher in Florida had to register her class and they could go in for free. EPCOT had a parking lot of buses the whole year. When I was there I heard several regular...

Remember when there were only TWO Parks..( a Nostalgia Thread)

So can I. You make me feel soooo old. Did ya know back then you could just buy a ticket to get admitted into the park and ride nothing? Older people didn't want to ride the rides sometimes so they just walked around the parks etc. My first pass was something like $7.99 for a day of...

    Not-Worth-It Attractions

My take on this whole thread. People seeing the rides for the first time see the rides quite differently than people who have been there year after year after year. Regulars tend to forget the excitement they had when walking into the park that first time. Even the greatest roller coaster in...

"While wearing a Birthday Button at WDW..."

Almost every CM at EPCOT addressed me by my name and wished me Happy Birthday. The CM at American Adventure came up to me and told me I had a call waiting for me on the phone inside. Goofy sang Happy Birthday to me. In Japan I got a lot of attention and jokes thrown my way by the chef...

    Some Last Minute Questions

    1. definitely less crowded. 2. there is a site to check but not sure where it is at-do a search for park ride closings and something should come up 3. Still long lines but sometimes when it says 60 minutes the time is really a lot less. Our policy is don't wait if the line is outside the door...
