DAK For a land most originally said they weren't interested in ................

The people saying that it will have a similar impact to Potter are delusional but it will make a huge difference to a park that needed an extra draw. I will reserve full judgement until I experience it first hand. I'll be there opening weekend but not making a special trip because of Avatar...

    Most nostalgic for you?

Oh and I always try to get a Small World window seat at Pinnochio's Village Haus, or above the walkway at Liberty Tree. I have ingrained memories of those two.

    Most nostalgic for you?

One that always gets me, that hasn't been mentioned yet, is the TTC. It's remained relatively unchanged since my childhood in the 70's. That's when I feel like I've truly "arrived" even though it doesn't look so magical to most people.

    News Tomorrowland love

I remember riding SM in the late 70's with the log flume style seats. I had to sort of sit on my brother's lap. It was uncomfortable and would even be worse being paired with a stranger. Before Monday I hadn't ridden SM in almost two years. That experience,(severe braking, lack of effects) made...

Which Retired Attraction do you miss most?

I don't know if this has already been said but El Rio del Tiempo Some could say that not much has changed, but I say the essence of what I liked about the ride has been ruined. I used to ride multiple times during a trip. Maybe once now. I liked it for the relaxation, scenery, theming and...

Is Stitch's Great Escape REALLY that bad?

Again. The smell is nothing more than liquid smoke. It's the context that disgusts people. It's suggested that it is a Chili Dog and the smell is propelled at you through a belch. In that sense, the show producers do their job in creating an idea and reaction out of the same scent they pump out...

Is Stitch's Great Escape REALLY that bad?

AE wasn't that great either. Though it was pretty creative, at the time, for the space they had to work with. A vast improvement over MtM. If it was still around there would be no lines and we would be screaming for an update to an outdated ride. The Stitch thing is kind of funny and...

Norway Pavilion Frozen construction - Frozen Ever After ride

Its an omnimover. The cars don't have to stop for loading/unloading. They are closer together too, therefore more cars/people per sq/ft of track. Doesn't matter how long the ride is.

    Animal Kingdom update 6.2.15

Ironically, they are being removed due to the LEAD components in them. Too many lawsuits being filed by parents of children licking the leaves.

    curious about River Country?

Not only are there brain and flesh eating bacteria in Bay Lake, there are amoebas that consume human spinal fluid as well as tiny fish that swim into and lodge themselves into a person's urethra. Not to mention the child eating alligators. That's why they closed River Country and no longer allow...

Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid closing for month long refurbishment Feb 2-Mar 6

I first rode the Mermaid ride at DL. Highly dissapointed. Not for the scale of the ride. I was maybe the first person on this forum to comment on the lighting. My impression and comment was that it was like riding through a furniture showroom with Disney props. I feel the same way with the queue...

    FP+ meltdown part x

3 extra cards each for the fast passes. Don't ask me why. I was fishing through my pockets to find the right ones at each ride. They all looked the same as my park passes. I didn't seperate them at the time the CM gave them to me. It wasn't terrible, but a little silly. I also was advised to...

    FP+ meltdown part x

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that the system was "down" and they had to give me 12 different cards to put in my pocket for everything. And it was only me and my two little girls

    FP+ meltdown part x

Many of you are taking sides on this issue, as either slammers or apologists. There are a few level headed people on here that are weighing the pros and cons and those are the posts I pay attention to and it's refreshing. None of us would be here if we didn't care deeply about the what WDW means...

MK little mermaids wait times now like dca's.

Just back from DLR. The new and improved lighting on LM makes all the difference. The last time I was there it was the same "showroom" lighting as in Florida. The new lighting is more atmospheric and uses more blacklight and I imagine the figures were repainted as well. You barely notice the...

First, and brief, trip report... 4 parks in one day!

I've read these boards for years now and rarely feel the need, or have the arrogance, to make comments. I don't want to add to the negativity that is already going on here, yet I agree with much of it. I've probably been to WDW at least 20 times, (which is much less than most here), in every...

Appalling state of the monorail cabins

I didn't see it mentioned here, yet I have heard it and experience it everytime I ride the monorail. "What is up with the cow manure smell in there?". I don't experience that smell anywhere else in WDW or elsewhere unless I'm standing in a barn, yet it is consistent in any of the monorail cars I...

    Disney Develops New "Floating Omnimover"

I understand your point but I'm not sure that the ride really works on any level. A flume bed of water would at least give it a slight bit more atmosphere. Would have possibly worked if they had made the ride similar to 20k at TDS.

Replacement Band for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

Bon Jovi is not an iconic band. Someone like KISS, AC/DC or the Rolling Stones are what is needed. They could have a lot more fun with KISS. I don't listen to any of these bands anymore, I'm basing my judgement on an objective, common man take. If anybody thinks that JBJ's singing on Hallelujah...

    MK My fle review

I think TLM is a step BELOW other FL attractions. Yes, it is more elaborate, longer and more expensive but it misses the mark entirely by being, "just not fun". It falls flat IMO. Sad really.
