I think the best time I’ve had on the speedway was with my dad as a kid. We got in and of course the steering wheel didn’t work so we crashed back and forth the whole trip around. Now that was fun!

The speedway can be very thrilling depending on who is driving the car behind you!

Unfortunately, if they do rebuild Space Mountain, I think they’re going to change the ride path. There is nowhere near enough clearance for modern coaster safety standards.

People are seriously underestimating how big of an event the 250th is going to be. Disney can cash in and print money if they are open to it. They went big in 1976 and it paid off. They should do so again. America sells. People love it (especially foreign tourists!).

Now, if they really wanted to enhance this parade, they would add a special float next year to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our independence. That would be a beautiful callback to the MSEP and would do wonders to improve Disney’s image.

I have to say, much better in person! You don’t notice the lack of material in between the major floats as much because the parade does move along at a fast clip. The music is good. I just have to say, it was incredible seeing those characters waving from the floats to the crowds. That was true...

When it comes to replacing classic attractions designed by protégés of Walt Disney or Walt himself, the chances of an improvement from change (I.e. outright replacement) are minimal. As such, they should not be replaced. Focus on the other low hanging fruit around the park.

The post I was quoting said change makes the park “sacred.” Change in and of itself is not a good thing.

Calvin Coolidge once said "It is much more important to kill bad bills than to pass good ones." The same applies to the replacement of classic theme park attractions.

Change does not make anything “sacred.” What makes MK important is quality. Change for the sake of change is pointless. Change is only an improvement if what comes after is better than what was there before. As others have mentioned, once you change something enough, it is no longer the same.

Yes there are fish in the RoA. I’m no fisherman so I cannot identify any but I have seen them before.

Last time they didn’t do a full drain, only a partial, meaning that fish could have escaped to the back of the river. I would assume that this time they are closing the canal which connects this to the SSL and are going to pump it out into the adjacent swamps.

I think the only other thing that could have put this area over the top would have been the addition of a roller coaster a la Raging Spirits in Paris or Tokyo and an animal exhibit. Around the park they still need an additional attraction in Pandora, Asia, and Africa. I think they should also...
