News Coronado Springs Expansion - Gran Destino Tower

My guess it that it's less expensive to build up as opposed to building a sprawling complex over many acres.

News Coronado Springs Expansion - Gran Destino Tower

How dare you........ You--you-- troublemonger. ;) Actually I'm ambivalent about the whole thing. I don't go to WDW to look at the Resort buildings but it may clash with the Resort theming.

How's the German Restaurant at Epcot? Food and entertainment?

The food is passable German fare but not entirely authentic. My German Grandma would have recognized it but not necessarily enjoyed it. The atmosphere is nice, albeit too dark, and the German performers are quite good. I would have liked to eat there on our last visit but the rest of our group...

Debbie Downer wrote an article for Business Insider

Apparently she's adapted her writing style to mimic the rest of the MSM. It's the, "I'm smarter than anyone else.", "If I don't like it, you're not allowed to like it.", "If the facts don't support my agenda I'll just lie.", mentality that has slimed it's way into journalism in recent years.

    Smart Phone?

Get good insurance on your smart phone.........:) My SIL lost his on a coaster ride at Busch Gardens and it was never retrieved.

Increased foot traffic at Epcot's International Gate...

As far as the gondola traffic goes it will be a steady stream of guests and not a deluge like occurs when the Monorail docks or ten to fifteen busses unload all at once at Epcots main entrance. Besides, IMO, Disney is implementing the gondola to relieve some of the congestion in the parks since...

    Security at Epcot

I'm sure there are several layers of "Threat Interdiction" at WDW. I've seen K-9's at Epcot's check point doing what they do best. Sniffing for contraband, likely explosives. If people look carefully they can spot numerous discrete cameras, all of which are feeding visuals to backstage monitor...

    Security at Epcot

So what??? Humans have always been in fear. Ever since the first one fell out of the trees in Africa we've been the target of predators, disease, climate, the planet, and each other. No one has EVER lived without fear of something, or someone, taking their life. Many of todays security measures...

News Peak season crowds have arrived

IMO Disney has entered a new phase of uber greed. The top dogs could care less how crowded the parks are as long as the cattle, people, in those parks paid to get in and buy the high priced food and Mickey ears. More people equals more income and if those people are miserable, tough excrement.

    Security at Epcot

Fortunately for WDW guests the show of Security at the park entrances isn't even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to making it a pretty safe place to visit. I've had friends in Management at WDW and have been made aware of some of the internal Security workings and procedures. Suffice to...

    Security at Epcot

Agreed..... Security today is absolutely paramount.

    Security at Epcot

Actually yes..... That was the first time on our last WDW visit that I wasn't "randomly" chosen to do the metal detector dance. Which, BTW, is about as "random" as Sunrise and Sunset times.

    Security at Epcot

During our last visit I was chased into DHS by a rookie Security Guard after being passed through the check in area. He said that he forgot to look in my "holster". I opened my cell phone case that I carry on my belt and showed him my phone. After that I just showed my cell phone to the...

    Security at Epcot

You'd think, considering that Disney has put a ton of money and time into the Magic Bands, that they would be able to track the wearer from one Security point to another and eliminate the redundant extra checks.

News Peak season crowds have arrived

Because a certain young member of our party insisted on seeing, and being photographed with, The Beast. And as everyone knows Grandparents are so easy to operate that a child can do it.

News Peak season crowds have arrived

We've had dinner there four times and lunch once. The décor is fine for a castle but the main dining room has the feel of a large cattle barn where the servers are trying to get all of the animals fed and back out to pasture in the Park. It's noisy, rushed, and not a relaxing experience. The...

News Coronado Springs Expansion - Gran Destino Tower

I understand that WDW is doing a good job of controlling those critters lately. I'd worry more about the Snapping turtles. They can remove a toe or finger quite easily.......:jawdrop:

News Coronado Springs Expansion - Gran Destino Tower

OK... If they don't mind smelling like a swamp afterwards.

News Coronado Springs Expansion - Gran Destino Tower

I thought there was a concept map that showed a new pool next to the tower.
