Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

This is anecdotal, but I'm 20 and I have the Regal Unlimited pass. I loved being able to go see a movie after work. Personally, I think a movie theater experience is super special and can't be beat. Your full attention is on the movie and nothing else.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Definitely. I think a small June/July opening is likely, then if business is doing well, they'll amp up construction in EPCOT and hopefully have considerable progress on the projects there by the time it reopens in August. Just a guess, though.

https://chipandco.com/disney-accepting-applications-epcot-cultural-representative-programs-386273/ Super helpful article. I wouldn't be surprised if Epcot doesn't open until August (or any of the parks, really).

Unbelievably so! The whole movie is a great PSA on why you shouldn't do drugs.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Personally, I love seeing movies in the theater. I mean, I'm never going to forget what seeing Cats was like on the big screen.

I found this poem both funny and slightly terrifying.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

When I worked QSFB before I was sent home I was told we have a water station and a CM monitoring it in the summer. I suspect most QSFB locations have something similar, so those will probably be put out. Also I love the contactless water bottle stations! they're great and they already have a few...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Someone else pointed out the potential security risk for people wearing masks. I know it’s not the same as a cloth mask, but aren’t guests over 14 not allowed to wear one into the park? I know that generally means full face masks, but I bet Disney is taking security into consideration with this...

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

I’m currently taking 2 online classes this semester so I’m still working towards my degree. I’ve been working on my AA for a little over a year and I’m a little over halfway done. If I keep going I should finish this year and start my bachelors. Even with school, I guess a working spring break...

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

Do you not realize that a lot of CPs have already experienced hardship? I wasn’t gonna get personal but I was raised in an extreme religion- I call it a cult, because it fits the definition. I loved Disney and what it stood for but was told I could never pursue my dream or go to college...

I’m likely missing the obvious, but how will a lawsuit from a consumer force open a store? Isn’t the store within their rights to open and close whenever they please?

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

CPs have bills just like anyone else. I personally don’t have college loans, but a lot of my friends have college loans they have to repay. I don’t appreciate the fact that we’re being treated as though we weren’t really working. I was fortunate enough to get a ride back home but others weren’t...

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

It was a job. I got paid. I was able to pay my bills. I did not do the DCP for college credit.

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

I mean, they are now out of a job and income. Even though we left the company in good standing, I’d call that a lay-off at the least. For our safety? Yeah. But there’s a reason we’re all trying to file for unemployment-because we lost our job.

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

I don’t think you realize that CPs just lost their job. A lot of them aren’t there on their parent’s money. Some of them use the CP to escape abusive households and may end up going back if they have nowhere else. I doubt you’d have this much criticism for someone who works at a retail store...

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

while i do agree that i wish they would throw us a bone, i’ve been told we have excellent rehire status as well as a completed program.

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

I mean, possibly, but the rest of the fall program (not fall advantage) is still proceeding as normal. The program is cheap labor. They were planning on expanding with the new complex. why would they stop altogether? My email from disney today said they look forward to resuming the program. They...

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

Definitely not. They might cut back but they were building a new complex for DCP only that was supposed to open in May.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I certainly agree. A faceless virus is easier to dismiss as a threat than a terrorist attack, which is why I think a lot of guests will come back to the parks soon after opening. I mean, even after the virus hit the states, people were still packing into the parks. I think we’ll see a lot of...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Personally I think it will be less than 2 years if only from guest attendance. People want a return to normalcy and i feel the atmosphere is different than 9/11 (but then again i was super young at the time and am relying on reports).
