News Space Mountain exit being worked on

There’s so serious horizons and body wars queue vibes in that new room.

    What Animal Was That?

Most likely an armadillo or opossum.

    Walt's favorite attraction?

He personally owned the monorail, the steamboat, and I think maybe the train? I’d venture to say one of those were his favorite.

    Disney As A Corporation

Because the company, particularly around the opening of WDW and Epcot specifically eschewed those type of penny-pinching, make as much money as possible, corporate values. Their business philosophy was offer the best experience possible at a reasonable price and the profits would come. There’s...

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

My point was to do R&D to develop ride systems that weren't omnimovers and boat rides but could approach that kind of capacity. And the capacity of roller coasters can vary greatly depending on how they're designed. Flagship Disney coasters in particular have usually been designed to run many...

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

Well if I had my way rides wouldn’t be 3 minutes long and closer to 10-15 or longer unless thrill attractions but that’s a different discussion entirely.

EPCOT Announced: Mary Poppins Attraction in UK Pavilion

Thanks, I’d like to take that credit, but as @GlacierGlacier points out - the issue is largely more what the people in charge have as priorities and what they’re willing to spend money on. Everyone once in a while Imagineering turns out a turd of bad design intent, but almost always it’s really...

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

like hell, even my FAKE poppins ride was designed to handle between 2200-2800 people an hour, and space for at least an hour of people indoors. And there's all sorts of realistic things I ignored for simplicity, like it's an essential intrinsic part of the process. Instead the process seems to...

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

IDK how you become a theme park designer without extensively thinking about things like capacity, and how operations actually will work an attraction, but somehow it seems to be a pretty common oversight. Like it doesn't take having worked in operations to know that the classic people eaters all...

If I could relocate an attraction at WDW......

Im not the first to propose it but I’d move it’s a small world to the center of epcot to join futureworld and world showcase. It’s presentational style is much more in line with (at least classic) epcot than fantasyland and its theme much more appropriate. Also it would free up a ton of land in...

    Jolly Holiday Ride

Quite a few different things were used for the whole project. That initial fly through is a sketchup model that was rendered using the twilight plugin. Everything in the video was modeled with sketchup up - but the ride through portion was exported to No Limits 2 (a roller coaster design...

    Jolly Holiday Ride

Well this project was a big piece in the several step plan, so i guess it depends on your definition of "soon" :) . And thanks...there's definitely a fantasy scenario in my head where someone in power sees this and steals the idea and makes it happen.

EPCOT Announced: Mary Poppins Attraction in UK Pavilion

Thanks! There's space for a ride service area in the design (perhaps slightly cramped), and the only thing I'm not certain about backstage access is if there is enough space for a fire lane and slightly more room between the walls of some scenes, it might require slight adjustment of the...

That’s a sketchup model with a twilight render. And thanks!

EPCOT Announced: Mary Poppins Attraction in UK Pavilion

So mods, feel free to remove this post since it is only partially related to the thread, but since we're talking about a Mary Poppins ride in the UK pavilion, I'd love to share a link to a version of the attraction I'd love to see (but will never happen) and is specifically designed for that...

    Jolly Holiday Ride

Hey Everyone! Here it is, the eighth wonder of the world, the one, and only, I'm finally freaking done final product! I can't think of a better way to celebrate Walt Disney World's and Epcot's birthdays than a new attraction. I can't wait for all you all to see it and let me know what you...

Good subdivisions close to Hollywood Studios ?

The closest neighborhoods to Disney are off apopka Vineland and 535. Also Celebration. Slightly further but within 30 minutes are Dr. Phillips, Windemere, Winter Garden, Hunters Creek, Whisper Lakes and Williamsburg (my old stomping grounds!)

There's a Great Big Beautiful Assortment (of Reasons People Visit Everyday)

I wrote this a few weeks ago but forgot to post it here. Always fun to hear what people think. https://www.themeparkconcepts.com/2018/09/02/oh-theres-great-big-beautiful-variety-reasons-people-visit/ Recently, I was watching an episode of Super Carlin Brothers, a Youtube channel devoted to...

Did Horizons have the best soundtrack?

It’s up there. I prefer Ellen’s personally but Horizons is pretty damn good. Especially that load cue. Pity it’s so short. Also the Mansion and spaceship earth ‘94 are high on the list. Really most of Epcot could be put on the list.
