EMH wristbands to be discontinued September 7th

Yeah, that line to get wristbands will just shift to the entrance of every attraction. I'd be willing to bet more non-resort guests get on attractions doing it this way.

EMH wristbands to be discontinued September 7th

Why does it matter if "regular" guests stay later? They can only shop and eat. Guests stay after the parks closing hours all the time, EMH or not. And from a CM perspective it is definitely easier to check for wristbands vs. room keys, as wristbands are immediately identifiable.

Jim Hill discusses Disney's Jungle Trek

I'm going to go against popular opinion and say that I think the idea of Jungle Trek could definitely be quite compelling. I will also point out that I definitely could not afford something like this unless I specifically saved for it. This type of park fills a niche that none of the other parks...

    Jungle Trek

I don't find it unrealistic at all that they are planning a park like this. Planning can occur years or decades before the park actually comes to life. You could very well see additions to all of the other parks before this one actually opens. It's not like planning this park causes everything...

    pop or stars?

The location is not all that much different, although Pop is in more of a central location when you compare the two. As others have pointed out, the buses for Pop are much better as they are not being shared between three resorts like they are with the ASRs. From my perspective the resorts are...

Do I Miss Themeing with FastPass?

You could technically take your time in the Fastpass queue and take it all in, and just let anyone coming go past you. Typically the Fastpass queue takes the same or similar path as the Standby queue at most Fastpass attractions, but you're just zipping past everything.

Which is worse: Pool hopping, using FPs outside the time window, ...

You definitely hit the nail on the head here with the moral/ethical grounds. As far as my personal feelings on these, none really bother me at all. The majority do not partake in these activities, so its effect on me is likely to be negligible. Am I really going to notice if there are an extra...

    Fast Pass: Broken Idea

But they don't have FP distribution machines at CoP, right? Are they just using the second ramp as a "fastpass" entrance?

    EMH: Broken Idea

The ticket prices for P&PP probably don't cover the entire cost of staffing the park, but it certainly supplements it. There's a reason there is a ticket cost for the P&PP Anyways, Wishes helps to keep all guests in the park until closing (not just resort guests). I can't believe that the cost...

    Fast Pass: Broken Idea

When you point out the attractions that "don't need it," do you mean the FP at that attraction causes traffic flow problems? Or it is not worth it for guests to get FPs for these attractions because it does not save all that much time, so it may as well be removed? If it is the latter, I'd say...

    Fast Pass: Broken Idea

If the fastpass line is always filled with people, obviously they must not all be arriving at once... Anyways, if this really is the case, all they need to do is lower the number of fastpasses being distributed. It's not a problem with the fastpass system, it's a quantity issue. And since...

    EMH: Broken Idea

Actually, it appears most are indicating the wait times are less than what it was during the day, but simply "not enough." To assume that there will be no lines is asking a bit much. The site mentions reduced waits and more time in the parks. It does not say you'll be able to walk on every ride...

    Fast Pass: Broken Idea

The wait time for an individual can increase if they are in the standby line. This happens anytime a guest returns with a fastpass though. The wait time for the attraction is unchanged. If 100 people are waiting for the attraction, it doesn't matter if 80 are in standby and 20 are in fastpass...

    EMH: Broken Idea

So the problem seems to lie in the distribution of the wristbands, or maybe the use of wristbands in general, and not necessarily the EMH perk. And really, the perk of EMH is to get an extra hour in the morning and three at night for a given park. The perk isn't to get free reign in an empty...

    Fast Pass: Broken Idea

Fastpass is not the cause of making lines longer. Fastpass also does not make lines shorter. Wait times are a direct result of the OHRC of that ride and the number of guests in line. It does not matter if those guests are in a fastpass line, a singles line, or the standby line. If there was no...

    Disney Quest now $40!

Bingo. I'd be really interested to see the breakdown of guests entering DQ to see how many enter with a one day pass vs. how many enter using the "Water Parks & More" option. I have a feeling this has a whole lot more to do with increasing the perceived value of the "Water Parks & More" option...

    Why did WOL close?

I believe the movie you're referring to is Innerspace, and yes, it was quite similar to Body Wars. Cranium Command was my favorite WoL attraction though.

    New Walt Disney World Magazine

For anyone interested in listening to Lou and one of his collaborators talk about the magazine, he announced this on the July 20th episode of the WDW Radio Show. Haven't gotten to the episode on the 27th to see if it is covered more.

    Why did WOL close?

The pavilion lost sponsorship in... 2001 I think? It never gained another sponsor after MetLife left. That was ultimately the reason for the pavilion's demise.

Fantasmic gets cut to just 2 shows per week

What are those pieces that we know? PI closing? Reduction in character dining? Who knows if those are related at all? Does anyone actually know that projected attendance or resort reservations are down? Short of being in those meetings where this decision was made, we have no idea of the big...
