This is why Disney's recent trend of removing classic attractions and replacing them with the current most popular thing worries me. The more they continue to focus on this trend the more I feel the parks will lose their identity and appeal.

I feel like Disney is treating this more like a standard refurbishment rather than a new attraction. And if so, I have no idea why they would considering its the only new "ride" they have opening this year.

That outcome all depends on whether or not Disney learns the right lessons from Epic's Lands, more specifically Berk.

I think it really depends on where they add stuff. If expansion involves taking over a chunk of guest pathways I can understand why they would take advantage of a seasonal closure to add something, if its in expansion space they could keep it open.

Most of what Disney does nowadays is mostly done based on what looks good on paper.

They turned off the effects on the volcano walkthrough already. I hope those get refurbished soon.
