Is taking a camera worth the hassle?

It all depends on what you want to do. My last trip, I ditched my DSLR after Day 1. I was sick of the weight and bulk. I used a small P&S and relied on Photopass. It was much easier. However, I did lose a lot more shots that I normally would. I thought long and hard and took a deep look into my...

Anyone else, had frustrating situations with their Travel Agent??

Yes, many times. They say they have your interest at heart. The TA I use automatically moves to the best rate. But they get snippy when I find a better rate renting DVC or staying offsite. If only they provided a true travel agent service other than a reservation mechanism, would they be useful.

Packing question about visiting WDW in early December

It all depends on what you consider cold/cool. When it gets below 70 degrees in FL, many Floridians are in parkas, ski gloves, heated socks. Me, it is shorts and short sleeve shirts until it is below 40.

    Car or no car?

My only concern about not having a car on this trip is a grocery run. I am just going to have to take an hour out of the trip and Uber to one. As for buses, I am certain that having a car saves time. I timed my Summer trip staying offsite and my room-to-gate times were very consistent at each...

Crowd Movements/Designated Standing Areas At MK For HEA

I guess that is the advantage of being a bit bigger. I do not get pushed easily and you don't want to push my daughter.

    Surprise trip gone wrong?

My daughter had a similar reaction when I surprised her right after school. She was in 1st or 2nd grade and started crying in front of school when we told her. Somehow, she all of a sudden got a strong fear of flying. Not sure where it came from. After a Happy Meal and milkshake she agreed to...

Best way to sell old gear

They were Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8. Both sold for $10 less than BIN price. They sold for $100 combined more than I expected.

Best way to sell old gear

I went the eBay route. I sold my 2 lenses in 3 hours. My camera body is still listed and I am letting it ride. I will lower it if I don't get an offer in a week or so. The problem with selling direct is some people want painstaking information. eBay at least makes it easier.

SSR V OKW V PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE

I have stayed at SSR and POR. We will be staying at OKW in 3 weeks. I will never stay at POR again. The resort is great but our transportation was horrible. I can't give details, but we were well compensated because I actually documented the times and what was done to us. After Day 2, we only...

First time To Disney World with my 6 girls! Help please!

Relax, take a deep breath, and just wait for the excitement. The first thing to plan for is that you will be there during the absolute busiest time of the year. Get your mindset around that and be prepared. It will be packed and there will be long waits. If you don't have your mindset around...

    New camera advice

Just strolled in on this thread. I too dumped my Canon 7D and painstakingly heavy lenses (just this weekend). I went with the Fuji X-T20. I couldn't justify the additional cost for an X-T2. All in all, I am in for $1,000 more than I sold my Canon gear for. I got the XF 18-55mm lens, XF 50-140mm...

Changing resorts due to cost savings (POR to Art of Animation)

Wow!!! That is all I can say. Even at $7600 for 8 days and 6 people it is insanely expensive. I prefer to go the cheaper route and stay offsite to cut that down by another $2-$3k. Even if having to rent a car and upgrading one pass to an AP you will save $1,000s. If staying onsite is required, I...

Saratoga Springs vs Old Key West

I can't speak for OKW yet, but we did stay at SSR during our first Summer trip. I was dreading it. Didn't want to be in the heat. Didn't want to be with the crowds. Didn't want to be at a resort so far out there. There were so many things I was negative about before getting there. Turned out to...

Party of 6 vs Party of 5 (Huge Difference in planning)

Personally, I would save $3,000 and stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek in a 2BR Dlx. On the high end, you are looking at $1,200 for the 2BR unit, maybe $300 for a rental car if you need one. You can upgrade one of the passes to an AP to get free parking (nets out to break even with free MM and free...

Pop Century vs. Coronado Springs vs. Animal Kingdom Lodge

You cannot compare Value vs Moderate vs Deluxe resorts. It all comes down to how much you want to spend on a room, how much you are going to be in the room, and what amenities you need at the resort.

Fast pass Soarin or Frozen Ever After

When we were there a week ago the Soarin standby line was 30 minutes. We were exiting the ride at the 25 minute mark. They are doing a pretty good job and pushing people through. The extra theater makes it nice.

    Lost at Disney

My DD left her pin trading purse-thingy on Dinosaur. She realized it about 5 minutes after getting off. The Photopass place searched for our vehicle found the number, and had a CM check right as it got back after us. No pin bag. The people on it did not take it because the CM asked them...
