    Buh-bye Poly, hello Aulani?

Real quick aside - I am not a constitution scholar...but I did take Constitutional Law in college! *note - if you don't care about this stuff, feel free to skip over this post. It's quite...legalish. Texas v. White (1869) is the Supreme Court case which says that states do not have the right...

    Harry Potter Expansion?

You're right about Poseidon's Fury - I remember the original show where your "tour guide/professor" turned about to be *SPOILER ALERT* Zeus himself. It's a very different attraction, I can't really equate it with anything else. It definitely is a "love it/hate it" kind of thing. But I did...

Seven Dwarves Mine Train construction start date.

DISNEY vs UNIVERSAL PS - I guess this is the wrong time to say how much I also enjoy going to SeaWorld?:king:

    Dark Rides?

I can agree with Splash over Dudley Do-Right to a degree. The one thing I have never liked about Splash Mountain is that you don't get very wet; certainly not as much as the other rides listed (and definitely barely wet when Splash doesn't have the water jets on as you go around the big drop)...

    Dining plan questions

It's similar to booking a DHS Fantasmic dining package with Mama Melrose's if you've ever done that before. You have to check in, eat, and then pay before they fork over your Fastpasses for World of Color. At Ariel's the World of Color menu gives you a choice of antipasti (cured meats and...

    Buh-bye Poly, hello Aulani?

Everything I've read said it opened October 1, 1971 which is Opening Day for the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World.

    Dark Rides?

Mmmmm...actually if you look at the 2010 Golden Ticket Award winners: http://www.goldenticketawards.com/2010gtaParkAndRide.html you'll see that (once again) Spider-Man took home the "Best Dark Ride" award. I'm going to call it right now, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster will not be one of the ten...

    Buh-bye Poly, hello Aulani?

Unless there's some serious problems with the structures, that's a silly idea. And re-naming makes no sense. Generally speaking, each resort's name at WDW lets the guests know what kind of decor and experience to expect (i.e. - Old Key West, Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans, Contemporary...

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

I agree with you about DL's Pirates; while clearly the better ride (and also figuring out where they got the idea for the San Angel Inn/El Rio del Tiempo combination) isn't blowing-out-of-the-water better. We miss the first drop, some skeletons in caverns with gold, and the going-back-up part...

Hi, Crazy question. I was wondering what the cut-off number of posts are for each category of member (i.e. - how much till "Earning your WDWMagic Ears, Senior Member, whatever's above that, etc)? Just curious. Thanks!

    Dark Rides?

No, no, not at all. Harry Potter, Spider-man, and Revenge of the Mummy all tell quite coherent stories from start to finish; I'd be happy to explain them if you didn't catch them. If we're talking about the best dark rides, as much as I love Disney (and I do), Universal has them beat hands...

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

You don't think that's an abnormally long queue? Granted I understand why it has to be that way, but man it just seems like it takes forever to get to the loading dock. Not to mention having to walk all-l-l the way back after riding. From what I can recall, back when it first opened CMs...

    Jedi Training Academy 2.0

I would be cautiously optimistic, as something like this makes a reasonable amount of sense. You'd be able to bump the Jedi Training Academy up to a full-fledged "attraction" which would please the "more stuff to do" crowd, you already have the actors and costumes, and you have a built-in...

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

I don't remember that effect, but I do remember the one that I think is in that particular corridor; pull on one of the bamboo supports and the ceiling drops a little and the lights flicker.

Update from Oriental Land Company on the Status of the Tokyo Disney Resort...

Tokyo Disneyland is opening tomorrow (Friday) and will be open everyday from 8am-6pm. Normally they're open until 10pm, but with power concerns they're closing early every night. Tokyo Disney Sea won't open until April 28th. Source...

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

Actually with the way the United Arab Emirates have fumbled the ball with the Dubailand project, I would lay a dollar down for a Disneyland-style park in Dubai. Close proximity to a large population, a tourist economy, and a place in that part of the world that is Western-friendly.

    Project Z

Any realistic chance someone can change Iger's mind and re-instate the Tron coaster for WDW? I know "anything can happen", but what are the chances?

    Sith Training Academy (coming soon?)

I love DL's Jedi Training Academy a bit more than DHS's...they use the rising stage from the Tomorrowland Terrace, so when Darth Vader makes his appearance, he literally rises from the ground with the smoke and the lighting...awesome.

    Best Major Attraction?

*pssssst* Change "Mount Everest" to "Expedition Everest". That's not even the whole name (it's Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain), but Expedition Everest is closer.
