Chances of TRON attraction now that movie is out?

It's tough to figure exact numbers based on that. Remember there's several options: DVD only, 2-Disc DVD/Blu-ray, 4-Disc DVD/Blu-ray/Blu-ray 3-D/Digital Copy, and the 5-Disc "Holy :dazzle:" Edition (which is the 4-Disc version plus a DVD copy of the original Tron). That one puts you back only...

    Marvel's Next Step

I don't remember what the site was (Screamscape?), but there was an article about a high-level Universal meeting regarding what their contingency plan would be if they lost the Marvel characters in IOA for whatever reason (bought out by Disney, Disney making Uni's life a living hell to force...

    Brazil Pavilion in Epcot?

My best guess: an Amazon rain-forest boat ride, like a souped-up more thrilling Jungle Cruise. I'd almost guess a river-raft ride, but with DAK already having Kali River Rapids I don't know if that would fly with current management. Plus you'd have to wonder how you shoehorn in a ride like...

    Marvel's Next Step

While I agree with your general sentiments about Six Flags and their (lackluster) use of the DC characters, I will give them a solid "B" for The Dark Knight Coaster. Certainly not A-list theming ala Disney or Universal, but definitely a couple steps up from what SF usually does.

    Brazil Pavilion in Epcot?

It would, and I would love to see it happen. But if I was in charge and I had a choice between Brazil and India, I would pick Brazil for the simple reason of numbers: more Brazilian tourists come to WDW than India.

    Gay Days

As a former CM who worked quite a few Gay Days, I would wholeheartedly recommend going to the park with the "scheduled" Gay Day. There are a lot of families that avoid the Gay Day park of the day, and I can give first-hand testimony that the less small children running around, yelling...

    Brazil Pavilion in Epcot?

The problem is that current Epcot management is not interested in rides for World Showcase. They prefer to have WS as it is, which to them is an immense shopping and dining area, and keep the rides in the front in Future World.

    great grocery delivery service

Yes, Florida grocery stores sell beer and wine. If you want something stronger, they have dedicated "liquor stores" built into the grocery store. I don't believe the local Super Wal-marts have liquor stores; your best bet is the nearest Publix grocery store.

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

Fantastic article Eddie, thank you for bringing it to our attention. I had heard of the story regarding Walt's pitching the idea of Disneyland to established amusement park operators and being told how much of a failure it would be, but I never actually read what they had to say. There were...

    Brazil Pavilion in Epcot?

I posted earlier in the thread an image from Google Maps showing where a new Epcot pavilion would go, Brazil or otherwise. Here's where it would go; as you can see, there's plenty of room for a large ride if they chose to go that route...

    Brazil Pavilion in Epcot?

I think a Brazil pavilion would make sense as well. Looking at the area where the new pavilion would go, there's a ton of room there should they want to do a ride...

Best way to avoid AM traffic from 535

You want 535 to 536. It's going to be busy anywhere you go, but that intersection is very large and moves traffic better. When I was a CM, I lived within walking distance of the Wal-Mart on 535, and I would always take 536 to get to work.

Howard Johnson Main Gate East , any info??

The area is safe enough, but you want to avoid either HoJo (they have Maingate East and Maingate West). You definitely get what you pay for, which is threadbare and nothing. In that area, there are so many hotels to shake a stick at it's crazy. My recommendation is Comfort Suites Maingate...

    Motel 6?

I've never stayed there, but I've driven past it many times. It's in a safe part of Kissimmee and very close to WDW: http://www.motel6.com/reservations/motel_detail.aspx?num=0464

    5th major park (Open Brainstorming)

I personally don't think they have any plans to build a fifth park at WDW; there's plenty of space in the existing four for improvement. If they were to go ahead with a fifth park, I suspect they'll go the niche park route like SeaWorld's Discovery Cove with their Disney's Jungle Trek.

    Dark Rides?

I can't say for sure since I am not a higher-up at Universal, but I don't believe they use excitement as a crutch. And I don't think subtlety is lost on their designers; many employees of Universal Creative have been laid off Imagineers. Matter of fact, when DAK was nearing completion, WDI...

    Dark Rides?

There was no condescension regarding the "story" elements of Harry Potter, Spider-man, and Mummy; if that's how my sentence came out, my apologies. I said that because sometimes people overlook what the story is suppose to be on any ride - Disney, Universal, or other (they might be...

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

Personally I think it's a little too jarring, especially the ending. Everything's on fire, the prisoners are trying to escape, and then "Welp, that's it!" DL's Pirates - you go around the Blue Bayou restaurant so everything seems rather normal, make the first drop, now there's eerie caverns...

Seven Dwarves Mine Train construction start date.

When I worked for Disney I had friends who worked for Universal, and we would "help each other out" (i.e. - you get my friends into Disney, I get your friends into Universal). AND, this may blow your mind, I have friends who work for BOTH! One day they're at Disney, the next Universal.

    WDW attraction posters

I did a Google search for "Disney attraction posters", and found more links to buy them than I could shake a stick at. Go to town. Additionally, when you go to WDW the store "Art of Disney" at Downtown Disney has quite a few.
