    Tokyo Dining

We eat there all the time. The menu has scaled back over the years, but it's still a favorite of our family; not to mention that you can normally get same day reservations.

    Resort Luggage Carts

Depends on the resort. Staying at Coronado Springs in January, went to Bell Services and asked for one, and they gave it to me. They asked that I just return it back to them.

News Disney removing plastic straws and more by mid-2019

Was recently skiing out west, and a restaurant severed a drink with a metal straw. Briefly not paying attention when taking a sip, I almost chipped a tooth forgetting that the straw was metal. Ouch!

    Beach Club 1st timer. In’s and out’s?

Love the BC (and YC too). Proximity to International Gateway to walk into Epcot. Often take advantage of that with Park Hoppers to just go in and grab a snack/dessert in a country or to catch the fireworks. The pool at the hotel, Stormalong Bay, is like a mini waterpark, and could spend hours...

ABC Commissary to begin accepting reservations for dinner

ABC Commissary used to be our standby option if we couldn't get into a sit down restaurant, until the changed up the menu a couple of years ago. I used to like the small steak they had, which they removed from the menu with the last round of changes. Overall, they like every other dining...

Bar Seating in Disney Springs (No ADRs)?

Have done the bar seating many times, and enjoyed them each time. Never a wait, friendly servers, and nice menus: The Boathouse Paddlefish The Edison

    Recent Beer Price Increases

Actually, those prices aren't that bad. Attending local NHL games for the NY Islanders, during the regular season draft beers were $15, which they raised to $17 for the first round of the playoffs. Ouch!

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Actually, a nod to a post way, way back as to why you can't swim in the lakes: “Brain Eating Amoeba Junction”

    CM Advance Booking

Family member recently did the CP, and basically you're not official and in their system to take advantage of your benefits/discounts until after you go through new hire orientation and are onboarded/processed in as a CM.

    Pop or Carribean Beach

It depends on your group/family size. Caribbean gives you slightly larger space, I believe double beds in Pop vs. queens in Caribbean. Also, Caribbean gives you a sit-down restaurant option, and a more formal lounge. As our kids became teenagers, we found the value resorts to be a little too...

    Magic Kingdom losing evening EMHs?

Agree completely with your comments. As a long time guest who hasn't stayed off property since the 1980's, for our next trip I will seriously look at staying offsite. With the gradual erosion of resort guest benefits coupled with room rates outpacing inflation, I just don't see the value any...

    Magic Kingdom losing evening EMHs?

Like any good business with shareholders, they'll keep raising prices and upcharging for various things as long as the market bears it. Eventually they'll cross some line somewhere that will backfire, but until they reach that point hold onto your wallets.

    Magic Kingdom losing evening EMHs?

Getting to the same point. Stayed a lot onsite over the past two years based on family situations, and have become disillusioned with the price you pay for WDW properties vs. what you now get for your money. Next time down will seriously look off property.

    Magic Kingdom losing evening EMHs?

Why not, they're basically down to only two nights a week (1 MK & 1 Epcot) anyway.

First Trip to Wilderness Lodge! Tips Appreciated!!

Find a nice quiet spot in one of the seating areas upstairs surrounding the lobby; great nooks and crannies to read, snooze, etc.

Is there a check-in early fee?

I've arrived at 11ish before, and it's just a matter of when your room is ready. I've gotten notified both early, and late in the afternoon.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner

The third picture with the cabins over the water got me thinking about another upsell idea for Disney. Rent poles for a new fishing experience, which you can then cook in the cabin when passing over the aforementioned "open pit barbecue"!

News Disney Villains After Hours coming to the Magic Kingdom

Not trying to be a hater, but with infrequent EMH and more of these ticketed nightly events, what exactly are the benefits of staying on property? Looking at next week's calendar for instance, there are only two nights in any park with EMH; it wasn't that many years ago that there was one 5 or...
