Wow. Ground is broken less than a year after Disney struck the deal with James Cameron. If this is true, this probably means either Iger has saved this project from budget cuts or they rushed to design the entire thing. I hope it's the former.

There should be a new kind of "Kingdom Keepers" book. Except instead of being about AAs coming to life at night, it can be about how night falls on the Magic Kingdom, and all the Audio Animatronics turn on in perfect working condition! There's fantasy for ya!

I understand the OP's point and I agree. It's unfair to accuse them of complaining about this on a level of world hunger. I love the picture threads, but I'd prefer one consolidated thread, too. I'm not going to gather my torches and pitchforks for it, though. :)

I love the idea of a more futuristic, fun Test Track. Now, please give us something like Tapestry of Nations. The whole Millennium Celebration package, with Tapestry of Nations, Reflections of Earth... just amazing.

I hate the idea of Avatar in the parks, but I love the idea of James Cameron being involved with Disney. He's a man of big scale, big budget productions. Just what TDO needs coming at them.

Aha! I stand corrected. Pretty similar, though, like how ToT at WDW relies on autonomous-guided vehicles while ours here at the DLR just get pushed back and forth with arms. Similar goal, different ways to go about it.

It's actually more advanced than that, as the short-lived Rocket Rods of 1998 used the same technology of an onboard computer driving and steering the car. The only difference is that the track was exposed, not under a separate themed surface. And you can count the Indiana Jones Adventures at...

The thing that makes me excited to hear about GM actually taking over the ride vehicles is that I imagine they would want to seriously make an positive impression of their own designs, which leads me to believe that these would be pretty schnazzy cars.

In Flight to the Moon and Mission to Mars, you were actually supposed to be going there. In Mission: SPACE, they tell you it's a simulator and you're only training. That's what I meant. :)
