Christmas Gift Ideas for our Jan. Trip

We did this. I bought small notebooks (journal size) and put assorted Disney stickers on it. I also put their name on the cover with Disney '06. I wrote a little paragraph on the first page with a few details of the upcoming trip. This was what they could use to get autographs & also write...

What's up with the may calendar!

I'm also dying to get the May calendar. I have already worked up an itinerary, but a lot of it depends on the hours & EMH. I'm already bummed that I can't make all my dining reservations yet. I live for the 180 day mark, and since I'm well inside that now, I feel like something is not going...

School in the south in August 2009

In our parish here in Louisiana, we also start around the 10th. Arkansas started, (I think) the last week of August this year. I know it was 2 or 3 weeks after we did. But because we get out so early, we're going to DW the 2nd week of May next year.

How much money do you spend per day?.

one other thing that may help those without dining, we always take individually wrapped crackers or snacks into the parks. That cuts out having to get a snack to tide kids over until mealtime. They're small and fit easily into any small bag. They do come in handy!!

    May 2009 Park Hours

I'm also waiting on May hours. I check daily to see if they've been posted yet, but no luck. I was told when I called to make a change on my reservation that I couldn't make any dining reservations right now. So I'm going nuts waiting to make my dining plans!

How much money do you spend per day?.

We've gone on about $50 each per day. It was actually probably a little less. (That didn't count food) That was our first time going and we didn't have any idea what to expect, in 2000. We've been 4 more times and we usually take around $75 each per day now. My ideal is $100 each per day...

    First-timer to the parks question

They do get some recognition. Sometimes they get to choose where they sit on a ride. CMs usually single these people out and something like "glad to have you here.", etc. It does make a trip even more memorable when the CMs see your button & "recognize" you in some way. It makes for special...

    Camera Question

I have always used either a regular 35mm camera or disposable cameras. I usually video more than I take pictures, but still end up with a ton of pictures. I am a camera idiot!:veryconfu Please advise me which cameras I should look at. I'd like something with a good zoom, that will take great...

Buses at AS Movies- Good or Bad?

We stayed at Movies 4 years ago. It was in October, so it was a little "off season". The busing was not that bad.If the lines were very long, we just stood back, let them get on and waited for the next one. Very rarely did we stay til the park closes (except at EPCOT for Illuminations). We...

    Texas to Disney...

We drive in from Shreveport, LA. We go down I-20 then head down in Mississippi, coming into Mobile. We used to stay in Pensacola Beach, so the kids could play in the ocean (gulf). After Ivan hit Pensacola, the hotel we liked was destroyed and the ones that are left are very expensive. We now...

ummm. My trip is booked for May and I'm already 75% packed. :lookaroun I pack away what I know for sure I want to wear. That way I have no chance of staining that particular outfit, etc. I start buying up outfits we'll want to take as soon as I book a trip. That way we don't count on taking...

    Wheelchairs and Parades

my dad uses a wheelchair. We had no problem with viewing parades or fireworks. There are wheelchair designated areas spread throughout parade routes and for viewing fireworks. The entire family gets to sit there with the w/c bound person. You should have no problem blocking someone else's...

    Young Kids-Fright Factor

I took my son for the first time when he was 7. Haunted Mansion was ok with him until we got to the end. He was sitting between my sister & me. He got really freaked when he saw the ghost sitting in his lap!!! He loved Dinosaur & the other rides that year. The next time we went (2 years...

    May sound stupid.... but

You can also fax the hotel with that info. About 1 week before you arrive, send them a fax, but be creative. Give them the info of birthdays/anniversary, and the more fun you have with the fax, the more likely you are to get some action. We had read (here, I think) that if you send them a fax...

    Pop Century question

Thanks guys! I think I've decided on the 70's building, and ask for a standard room there. We would like to overlook the foosball players field, so I may have to go Preferred. We will have a 15 & 14 year old with us and this is their request. We'll see. Thanks again!!!
