News Bob Iger is back! Chapek is out!!

While investors like optimizing money makers, they certainly need to see some large future investments as well to get excited about. Otherwise you live and die only on the quarterly results. Chapek clearly died with that last quarterly report. I think that ultimately the Board/investors saw...

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

So I'm assuming this would be 2028 at the earliest for an expansion of this size?

    News D23 Expo 2022

I mean please build all that. But don’t mention it unless you are gonna do it. You are gonna whip the fans up into a frenzy for something that may not happen. Kinda irresponsible if it’s truly just blue sky.

    News D23 Expo 2022

Have to admit, this is pretty awful. Bummed I won’t get to ride Tron. No reason it can’t be open in the next couple months. Honestly not much reason to go back to WDW after this next trip in January. I don’t go often to Orlando, but if I’m gonna go, I’ll save some money and stick with...

    News D23 Expo 2022

Yeah honestly I think becuase expectations are so low, a new e-ticket at WDW would qualify as beating expectations. Don’t really expect further DLR announcements for something new after the Avengers tease.

Well, you can't do much better developing a TV series than Ron Moore.

    News D23 Expo 2022

Well the Avengers news is slightly unexpected. My guess is that there is something surprising in store for WDW as well. D23 is definitely a DLR-centric crowd so it's understandable to hype them up with an early parks announcement.

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

yeah seems like they are sticking to one ILL attraction per park to have enough capacity for Genie+, but obviously could change back. Though it does seem like if any park could handle a 2nd ILL attraction, it's MK.

What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

Well if it is indeed a much bigger than anticipated D23 (which it has to be, especially for WDW with what Uni is doing), I'll be pleasantly surprised. Have no intention of doing Disney in my next trip down after my January trip and instead focus on Universal if there isn't anything new.

Think it will open by the end of the calendar year (they certainly can have it open by then), but who knows.

News Disney CEO Bob Chapek suggests price hikes are coming to the parks thanks to guest demand

Yeah, I don't exactly think Chapek is safe long-term. He got a relatively short contract extension. They likely want to see what happens post Covid and Disney+. Have to admit that Disney is in a stronger position then I would have thought though with the Parks being a money-machine and D+...

News Disney domestic theme park attendance now at 2019 levels with per capita spending up 40 percent

Wegmans is the best. My small WNY city has one and people literally come from an hour away to shop there.

News Disney domestic theme park attendance now at 2019 levels with per capita spending up 40 percent

Certainly there is quite a bit of risk that lower guest satisfaction will lead to real long-term hurt in the business. That being said, right now, the parks are just a money printing machine and Disney really has no reason to pull pack on their pricing and cutbacks. Do worry that the post-Covid...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Honestly it would be fine if they 5x the price to $75 and restricted it to only 10% of guests so. Would be a pretty good deal for a line-skipping pass, even with one line skip only.

    Disney’s Q3 FY22 Earnings Results Webcast

Overall pretty strong earnings report. Can't really deny the domestic parks aren't doing gangbusters business. Now that Disney+ is well established, the price increase makes sense, though it is pretty big. The new ad-supported tier costs as much as the no-ad service does currently.

EPCOT New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

Is that ever gonna show up.... anywhere? Seems like the biggest dropped ball that they somehow didn't make it their number one priority to do everything in their power to get an E-ticket based on the most popular movie franchise ever in a timely manner.
