EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

Personally, while I wish Disney would push more into full-on thrill territory, they do a really good job at the pleasing all ages/levels of thrillseekers type rides. They obviously aren't super intense, but they typically have enough force (and are well themed enough) to be ridable for the whole...

EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Feel like the non-Journey of Water stuff can be thrown up relatively quickly. Mostly concrete work and landscaping outside of the new Communicore building. Are they aiming to open the rest of World Celebration at the same time as Journey of Water?

EPCOT Journey of Water featuring Moana coming to Epcot

Happy we got some more fleshed-out concept art. Looks really well done.

EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I think it looks good, though I understand the frustration here, especially given the state the park is in. I'm sure it will be pleasant to go through when completed regardless, but overall seems like a missed opportunity. It's a shame that the festival center has been so downgraded.

    News Disney Exec Resignation

Chapek would get a similar golden parachute if he was fired. Not a bad retirement gift.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

I think RCID employs more like 300 some employees. These are mostly administrative for each department, fire/ems (I think by far the biggest department by number of employees), and they contract out for police services to the counties. My guess is that they mostly contract out for roads work...

Not a laywer but seems like a fairly easy due process claim here.

Not knowing Florida law, what is the difference between RCID and new districts? Doesn't seem like much and it won't functionally change what RCID does, but interested.

Rumor Hollywood insiders say there's growing tension at Disney as CEO Bob Chapek chafes at Bob Iger's 'long goodbye'

Doesn't Chapek's contract end early next year? While I think odds would favor him getting a renewal, the only way I can see him getting fired this "early" into his tenure is if Iger is back on board with coming back to be a transitional (3-5 year) CEO. That would give the board comfort the...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I do prefer the all-inclusive nature of those passes. Fastlane Plus is extremely expensive compared to a standard ticket but I felt I got my money's worth when I went a few summers ago on a busy Saturday at CP. Genie+ is much more of a half measure and it's clearly difficult to use, which makes...

I guess what would the updated terms be? It certainly seems that the leadership that pushed the bill is walking back some of their initial inflammatory statements after it was clear they probably overstepped both politically and legally, but I can't really envision what those different terms...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

This is why I have a hard time actually visualizing a dissolution (that wasn't prompted by the "residents" of a district with a well thought out and lengthy plan for integration into another legal entity). Municipal bonds are a very different thing than even major corporate financing. Interest...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Couldn't RCID continue taking out new debt to legally continue existing? I am certain that even without the dissolution law, they would always have significant bond debt because that is just how governments (really any large organization) operate.

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

I think he has major skill for back-room politicking,. That is great as a Fortune 500 CEO interacting with other extremely powerful people trying to get complex deals done but much different than the skills need for a mass political campaign. I wouldn't think his style has much appeal to the...

It's amazing how clueless politicians at every level of government are of what government's role actually is (doesn't matter what party they are).

The integration of the massive screen looks to be top notch. Surprised how good it looks even on video.

Tbh there is no guaranteeing that. But construction is certainly picking up so at least there will be a chance it won't be filled with walls.

I’m sure there will be festivities. Hopefully Journey of Water and (maybe?) the rest of the spine will be completed by then but that seems it could easily fall into 2023.

Looks really well done. I'm sure this will sell out of ILLs super quick (music to Chapek's ears). Did we ever hear if this is getting a virtual queue to start?
