Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't disney purposely not let the trees get to large before replacing them with smaller trees to keep the illusion that the castle is larger that it actually is? If you had large trees in the central hub your view from main street would be diminished as the...

Let me do a little price comparison and... Wait, that can't be right....

I agree with the folks above, there is def no need to stay 'onsite', the hotels there are massively overpriced, even moreso than WDW. However, don't expect much more than a place to stay if you stray to the MOTELS on Harbor ave, they are mostly older structures that have updated just enough to...

    spur of the moment

We are AP holders and do plenty of last min trips (some 3-4 days some longer) and usually just book a value hotel for those trips. Typically POP century and often between $70-95/night with pass holder discount. While this is a bit more expensive than some offsite motel 6 that would run a few...

    Annoying change at Space Mountain

considering this ride usually has one of the longest wait times (aside from Mine Train), I seriously doubt they will make any changes for the better unless its in the name of safety. Not sure if it was a rumor or not, but I heard the massive refurb of the DL space mountain was necessitated by a...

Island Supply in the Magic Kingdom's Adventureland to close next week

I Just can't see this as a good use of retail space from a business prospective (not even brushing on how out of place it is in the Magic Kingdom). Correct me if I am wrong, but Sunglass hut sells brand name sunglasses that on the average retail probably in the mid 100's and up? I am talking...

    Airline Boarding Passes

concierge. Had to do this once (spirit airlines) and they wouldn't do it outside of concierge hours (in other worse, the late night front desk folks wouldn't do it). They just turned the screen and gave me the keyboard to input everything and then printed for me.

    TTA Refurbishment on schedule?

color scheme is starting to grow on me, def has more 'substance' than the previous purple/silver scheme - less buzz lightyear future, more sci fi future in my opinion . Just not sure about the blue panels in the escalator - blue molded plastic has an 80's feel to it - are there any plans to pop...

    TTA Refurbishment on schedule?

Please tell me they cleaned up all the dust in the interior tunnel portions (buzz/monster side & stitch side). The amount of dust bunnies visible in the recessed lighting, corners of the wall and track was beyond deplorable even by six flags standards, let alone disney. Someone please post...

    Merchandise For Pets?

There is very little in the way of pet merchandise in the parks, almost none - and trust me we looked everywhere. We don't have kids so when we go to Disney (avg 3x a year) we always look for stuff for the dog and never find anything.

    Disney Then and Now

I just miss the way the place used to be run, the fact that you knew (beyond the shadow of a doubt) that if a ride was open, it would be 100%. Nowadays you have to wonder, will this effect work, will this speaker even be on, will there be trash piled up in the corner of this queue, etc . . . ...

    Pop Century

Love this hotel, have stayed at nearly every single on site property from Value to Deluxe and honestly, POP is one of my favorites - for the reason you mentioned already, you like it for what it is - cheap accommodations that still scream disney! Call me crazy but I honestly prefer this hotel...

    Best part of Coronado Springs?

The grounds are indeed pretty and the bus service is top notch as well. A lot of folks will tell you to get the preferred sections (Casitas 1-3) but my advice is to steer clear. If there is a large convention, that is where most of the conventioneers will be placed. We were in Casita 1 on our...

What Is Disney Doing Right at the Parks?

    1. MM+, say what you will about the teething/growing pains (its not been perfect), but I do not think people realize the full potential of this technology when its fully utilized/integrated into both attractions and logistics. Trust me, there are plenty of industries right now looking at this...
