i've only been in the reno rooms at BC (hoping to get into one at YC next week so i can update!) but the rooms at the BC were lovely. the palette was relaxing and they've really stepped up the game on bedding, plug ins, etc...i love the look of the floors at YC and think for many reasons...

agree with big blue. value resort pools are basic but serve the purpose of refreshing on a hot day and a good place for kids to play. the addition of the splash pad area is nice.

i would advise to continually check back as your trip gets closer as well. in the 3 months before our upcoming trip, MK went from closing at 9 to 10 to having pm emh's added until 1am.

2nd for yachtsman steakhouse. one of my favorite meals at wdw ever. if you liked the style of meal at ohana, you might also enjoy whispering canyon cafe at the wilderness lodge.

ahh. you are correct, sir. i interpreted it as, once you've walked into the park, that entitlement is "used" not "in use." ;)

you also have to have entitlements left on your ticket to add or upgrade, so if you've used day 2, you can't upgrade it, you would have to do it only after using day 1.

You won't be able to add it on for only one day of your base pass, you have to upgrade both days, even if one day is used.

Disney World at the holidays is FANTASTIC! It is an expensive time to go for sure, but there are great ways to cut here and there and still have a terrific time. Definitely do it once if you can!

Dave, it's been my pleasure working with you and I'm so glad that you're FINALLY going to get to go. I think you'll really enjoy getting to spend time at Give Kids the World. It's a spectacular place and you'll meet wonderful people. I can't wait to hear all about your trip when you're home!

Maybe 'Ohana or Whispering Canyon Cafe? Both close to Magic Kingdom and celebratory in nature. And fun for an 8 year old. :)

Disney has minimum/maximum length of stays in place at certain times, so you may be running into one of those. guest services MAY be able to adjust it for you. if you booked direct with disney, you'll want to call and talk to a CM and if they can't make it work, ask to be escalated to guest...

i love la cantina de san angel for quick service. i think it caters pretty well to picky eaters and it isn't too spicy or adventurous.

The park hoppers will add up, and I always expect a 5-10% increase in room/ticket packages year over year. If it's less than that, then it's a good surprise!

Our experiences with the buses at POR haven't been terrible. It seems at park closing they bring the extra long buses for POR the most. We also hopped on the POFQ bus once or twice if the line for POR was extra long (at MK). It's a lovely walk, and not too far at all.

there are stops in between, at the swan & dolphin, boardwalk and yacht & beach, so by the time it stops and loads/unloads, plan on 25-30 minutes from hollywood studios to epcot.

have you considered an adventures by disney excursion? there are so many to choose from, and plenty of european itineraries. there is one that goes to norway that looks absolutely amazing to me. what about aulani, the disney resort in hawaii?
