On the TTA 10/8 - Lime Green Stays!

On TTA now, trains cycling and a voice over the SM talking about Track B. Also a circular trench dugout of the dirt in front of SM entrance, looks almost like foundation for a fountain?

    monorail yellow...

Yep, Yellow had a Propulsion issue today on Epcot. They deadheaded the train, maintenance looked it over, and the next lap it was back up and running. Caused a bit of a delay on that beam, but only lasted 20 minutes. No biggie.

Monorail Temporarily Closed as of 6:30 pm

If you walk down the exit ramp from the MK Monorail station and look to your left at the Express pylons, there is one with a fairly large electrical box mounted to it. That was the box that "fried" which also caused the MK console to start smoking/sparking. You can see black charring on the...

Monorail Temporarily Closed as of 6:30 pm

Not to mention when MkIV Silver caught fire in the 80s.

Monorail Temporarily Closed as of 6:30 pm

The Resort beam SHOULD be back up in minutes.

Power rectifier on the Express/Resort beam went down near the Magic Kingdom.

Both are off-limits to Disney until the legal process and investigation is complete.

    Monorail pink

We have changed many procedures since then, any one of which would have prevented the accident had they been in place that night. You should have no fear of riding the Monorail, or for any of the CMs piloting them. The most popular suggestion for Train 11/12 is pearl (like a pearl white paint...

    Monorail pink

To be honest, this is not at all for a warm fuzzy feeling for the Guests, but more for the minds of the pilots. Trust me, this is still an extremely raw event to us and the wounds are opened every day by some rude Guest. I personally would not feel strange saying "Purple, by" again, but I know...

    Monorail pink

Constantly, all day, we are asked about the accident. And the "sympathy factor" seems to have worn off of the guests. "Were you the one that rammed the trains together?" "Were you friends with the guy that killed himself?" are examples of two questions I've heard in the last 3 days alone, not to...

Both trains will be rebuilt, but we have been asked for input "on the two new train colors."

    Monorail pink

Nope, it was Coral. There will not be another Pink.

Juan's Multi-park update with important SM news!

If it were a "cleaning test" it would make much more sense to do it on an area like the spur line leading to Shop, or at least on an open section of beamway, that isn't so visable to Guests from on-stage. I did notice it the other day while I was at Epcot, I will try to find out today what they...

Space Mountain trains cycling today (Sat 26 Sep) - photo

I was in Central Shops last week and saw some of the newly painted rockets. Same seats, at least from what I saw

SENTINAL: Walt Disney World shakes up transportation management

A minor technicality, but pilots now NEVER "reverse" through a switch. The pilot is ALWAYS facingforwards through a switch. The pilot can reverse on the open beam, where the MAPO system would prevent a collision (always in the normal direction of travel), but then they proceed FORWARD through...

    New Monorail Crash Details

Thanks :) Basically correct. Now, the only time we drive the train in reverse is "with the direction of normal travel." IE we can drive Epcot in reverse if its in the same clockwise motion as the other train(s) That way there is no MAPO override involved and the MAPO system works just as...

    New Monorail Crash Details

We have. Absolutely no reversing through a switch, and no MAPO override in reverse.

    Monorail

As the person above me said, this was a "door alert." And with it occuring on the Epcot beam it could have very well been training (they do it there because we only run 2 trains and they won't get "backed up") The first step we do when we get a door alert is to spiel to the guests to step...
