Grandma is not the Birthday Girl... Grandma sits in a rocking chair near the fireplace. (She is the same Grandma as the one in Carousel of Progress scene 1). Grandma wasn't even part of the conversation. Birthday girl has always shared the same face with the whistling pirate. LOTS of AA...

That's not even possible. The birthday girl was specially built for that specific purpose (hands on table, physically lean forward, blowing out candles), and they can't simply swap out the figures that way with her. She's always been a woman. You sure you weren't envisioning the scene...

Cool shot! Everytime I see a totem pole of any sort, I expect them to start chanting the "Hawaiian War Chant" at any moment.

The Tiki Room was originally planned as a dinner show - well, more of a restaurant with "live" interactive Tiki birds and such. The idea was nixed because of privacy concerns over hidden microphones at each table for the bird operators to be able to hear guests and interact with them. Not sure...

Ah, gotcha. You're right. I don't see how it even could happen in recent times. At least not by a guest throwing something. It would have to be an inside job - from inside the ballroom or from above or beneath the Doombuggy track where the AA figures are.

Someone already did that (in audio form) about 7 years ago - sort of. David G. Ravenswood of Ravenswood Manor.com took audio from Phantom Manor and combined it with Pirates of the Caribbean turning it into "Phantoms of the Caribbean". Turned out quite well.

The plexiglass was installed later, however I believe the reference to the glass being damaged is actually referring to the DL Mansion. A man shot at the glass with a gun. That's when the plexiglass was added to the balcony railings of both Mansions.

I just now got it. What threw me off was the comment about the crane. I was looking everywhere for a crane for a good ten minutes. In the middle of looking, it dawned on me I was looking at Sleeping Beauty's castle, but like a dummy I still didn't "get" it until now.

Crane? What crane? I see Sleeping Beauty's Castle from Disneyland, but there is no crane in the shot.

Sadly, it was the first time I had seen the castle in 19 years, and it's also the last time I saw it. I haven't seen the "real" castle in person in over 32 years! :(
