Magical Moments

One day at the Festival of the Lion King, there was a kid (probably between 7 and 9) sitting in the front row with his father (who was very carefully taping the whole thing). Judging by the child's clear focus, I'm guessing he'd seen it before. When the "fire hyena" came out, the child stared...

Funny things people say at WDW

I have to say, I love this thread...here are some from my collection... 1) After riding a verrry packed bus (and taking up about 6-8 seats) to AKL, the main man in the group proclaimed, "Where are we?" 2) In ToT que: Boyfriend: "We stand up on this ride." Girlfriend: "Are you sure?"...

    Character Heights

Does anyone know Timon's height? I'm sure it's less than me (5'6"), but a girl can dream, can't she  ? Also, I'm assuming most characters have set "dimensions" (waist, bust, hips) does anyone know what these are and/or if there are any? Thanks!

    LOST Discussion Thread

Have you checked out http://www.thefuselage.com? It's a great site with some very intelligent posters (not that I've been known to post there ;) ). I won't post the general feelings of the Fusekateers on these questions (in case other inquiring minds don't want to know), but if you haven't...

    LOST Discussion Thread

I think Hurley's episode was the best episode of any television show ever. Man, I wish I could watch it again for the first time.

Your Most Embarrassing Disney Moment!! (LETS GO, BE HONEST NOW)

I second that! It strikes me as rather bizarre that people are telling him he's mentally ill and then saying they hate him. As I've mentioned before, I don't think he's mentally ill. Unless someone on this board has the qualification to make this sort of diagnosis and actually knows him in real...

    Problems with Philharmagic 7/22

Don't know if this post is intended at me?!? This is the first time that race, religion, and color have been brought up in this thread, to the best of my knowledge. I think we should keep the focus on language and culture. I'm not trying to say that there are no rude Brazilians (in fact, I...

    weather in disney

I don't know how the weather is this second, but it is generally pretty rainy in August, at least in the afternoons. If you're willing to get a little wet, just wear shoes that don't let in much water and get a poncho (they are available in the parks, or you can pack them).

I am totally, completely, and utterly ashamed of myself

Truthfully, your posts really didn't offend me. Racism? Nope. White supremacy? Nope. It was simply a little school-yard bullying, nothing too serious. For these boards, it was pretty tame -- not the hostility I've grown accustomed to. The comments were uncalled for, but I can understand that...

    Problems with Philharmagic 7/22

Dude, I'm not saying you said anything about the American language. I think we are having communication problems, here. What I'm trying to get across is that while some intend to be rude, some may be rude accidentally because of language and cultural differences. For instance, if I went to...

    Is Disney World your favorite?

 Try living in the middle of nowhere! Five hours to Disney (counting layover) versus...an eternity spent in transit to Hawaii (layovers in Chicago, LA, Honolulu)...but then again, long trips mean in-flight meals which are highly enjoyable. We should discuss this "10 day free vacation...

    Tour Groups WDW

The groups I find most perturbing? The Magical Gatherings where all 8 to 25 people insist on holding hands and walking in one horizontal line across the walkway.

    Problems with Philharmagic 7/22

Man, no one is reading my posts at all, are they? It's easier to speak a language than to understand a language. Study a new language for a while if you want to experience this first hand. Many non-native English speakers do not understand precisely what they are saying, especially since...

    Is Disney World your favorite?

When it comes down to it, it is in fact a battle of Disney v. Hawaii. Disney wins out every year do to price, stilt walkers, and squirrels (the latter two of which Hawaii is sadly lacking).

    Tower of Terror Bellhops

A couple years ago we had Haunted Mansion cast members who, as the vehicle was leaving, would periodically pop their heads in and make creepy noises. Good theming, but made me giggle. I know this is a ToT and HM thread, but another good cast member was on Peter Pan. When parties got to the...

    Problems with Philharmagic 7/22

Please tell me this is a joke. If so  . If not...umm... I'm not very good at ballet. I look silly in tights. Three of the four languages you mentioned are non-existant. Voting ballots are generally available in multiple languages. If there's a choice between being...

    Problems with Philharmagic 7/22

I'm glad you brought this up -- I think those who are claiming that people are "pretending" not to understand English may have never had such an experience. I had studied Spanish for years and years, but the first time I tried to have a conversation with a native speaker, I couldn't understand...

    Employment??

Hope it didn't seem like I was trying to rush you into a major (especially since I think I set a record for the number of times I changed mine)! My modified advice: take some classes in each of the areas you're interested in. It takes some time, but that way you can test the waters and see...
