    Help confused

I'm not 100% sure, but if you use your debit card, the usual practice is to place a sizable hold on the account to cover any charges. As opposed to a credit card, where a hotel can simply run a pre-authorization to confirm you have an available balance.

So... how carried away do you get with your WDW trip planning?

That's eerily similar to my own vacation planning manifesto. My kids laugh that I take all the fun out, but I always tell them that planning a Disney vacation is on par with a military excursion. And there is definitely no fun in standing in line and not getting your ADRs.

Transportation question for making early breakfast reservation

I hate relying on the Disney transportation for early breakfast reservations, especially with an entire crew that never gets moving on time. Last time I had a 7:30 reservation at Chef Mickey, and ordered a Uber. I had a 10 minute wait, and the cost was under $10.

Is the MCO Security Line Usually That Bad?

As a post-script, I was in Disney for a conference two weeks ago, with a 3:30 Wednesday flight out of MCO. This time, I was from the DME to the gate in about 30 minutes. The TSA lines were still a mess, but there was far less traffic.

    Paradox

The conference offered discounted tickets, including after 3 pm tickets. Professionally, it would be suicide to blow off a day of a conference for the parks, especially in this case, when the fee was $1500 to attend.

    President's Week Lessons

Any park is manageable in peak crowds with a plan. However, if I am going during a school holiday with my kids, I'd much rather it be during February than the summer. Also with MK and Epcot, I will always target EEH days, leave around lunchtime and return about 5 pm. A staggering amount of MK...

Does Disney need another big thrill ride?

I don't want to duplicate another post I have about Epcot, but this is clearly where the Imagineers need to be concentrating with the projects at DHS and AK running. I don't think it's an unreasonable task to incorporate cutting edge attractions within the core vision of Future World (granted I...

Quick Review of the Yacht Club

It's not the same when you need to get your crew fed and out the door to get to the parks early, or looking for a quick dinner after a long day at the parks.

    Few Questions!

I personally don't buy Park Hoppers, as a lot of time is burned getting between the parks. In my experience it's best to plan out what parks to visit based on attendance trends, EMH and EEH and dining reservations. For example, Epcot is almost always the best choice on a peak attendance day...

    A critical look at Epcot

Was at Disney this week for a conference, and had a chance to head to Epcot for the afternoon. Being without kids let me take me take off my rose colored glasses and take a critical view. Spaceship Earth-I'm not sure I'd change much more than updating the script and freshen up the effects. The...

Quick Review of the Yacht Club

Was shipped off to the Yacht Club for a conference this week, and I thought I'd throw in a quick review. Last trip, the CBR texted me my room assignment at the airport. I never received my room assignment, despite completing online check in. As there were only two cast members manning check...

    Paradox

As this conference is an educational conference as much as a networking, it's an attendees benefit to attend all the sessions. All of my attendees are expected to take notes and write up their takeaways when we are back. IMO the Yacht club has done a fine job, the conference space is adequate...

    Paradox

Checked in last night at the Yacht club, and suitably impressed. However, locked in the next three days at a conference, though plotting my escape.

    Memory Maker worth it?

When I went in February, Disney sent me a 50% off promo for the MM, and I had no complaints about the quality of the photographs. It was good not to schlep my camera backpack around (though there's no substitute when shooting fireworks). Sometimes the CM's need to be directed properly. Also...

Does Disney need another big thrill ride?

At a 3 minute loadout, it's 720 rider/hour. At a 2 minute loadout, 1080 riders/hours. And Nitro is quick compared to other coasters, as the lap bar is the only restraint, many coasters use some form of belt as well, which requires the ride ops to check.

Southwest allows 2 bags per person predicament. (LoL)

When I travel on Southwest, with a six bag allotment for myself and the kids, I'll pack a smaller suitcase into a larger one. This gives us an extra piece of luggage to pack all the swag we buy on the trip

Southwest allows 2 bags per person predicament. (LoL)

Honestly, I would grab a cab, go to Wal Mart or a supermarket and grocery shop when you get to Disney.

Does Disney need another big thrill ride?

I love massive roller coasters as much as the next guy. I have no issues schlepping to Virginia or Ohio to ride cutting edge roller coasters. However, I don't think that's a good allocation of attraction dollars for Disney to try to out-do the Six Flags of the world on this front. I'll always...

Does Disney need another big thrill ride?

What I want to see is an exciting ride that properly utilized the Disney brand and Imagineering, can handle crowds and is not a ride that I can experience elsewhere. As a died in the wool WDW fan, I was nonetheless completely blown away by what Universal did with HP. For my money HP and the...
