News Disney CEO Bob Chapek suggests price hikes are coming to the parks thanks to guest demand

Yes, It's a flawed graph, but I thought it was a fun and relevant graph.. YMMV, obviously. I just find it interesting to reflect on the consumer's decision making process.

Big Thunder Mountain film in the works - wonder how this will affect the ride(s)?

While I find the modern Disney Corporation lacking, to put it politely, I'll admit that I found the Haunted Mansion and Country Bears movies completely fun kids movies. And as far as I know they didn't synergistically and hamhandedly shoehorn those films into those attractions. Jungle Cruise...

EPCOT Spaceship Earth Redo Shelved Indefinitely

My son, who is into conspiracy theories subscribes to the particular theory that Disney has staged the recent boat problems as a way to introduce, "see, we have not choice but to revamp the entire ride," and attempt to ease fans' anger. I was not convinced of this particular theory since I am of...

News Disney CEO Bob Chapek suggests price hikes are coming to the parks thanks to guest demand

You all see the NY Post article published a few days ago? "Disney World prices up 3,871% in 50 years — more than wages, rent and gas"

Oh yeah I forgot about Sunshine Seasons. That has always been solid. I just don't go there too often.

News Disney to develop residential communities with new 'Storyliving by Disney' business

You know, if Disney customer service was what it used to be, that really would be a brilliant idea on paper. And one I'd consider - again, if their customer service was what it used to be. I know people who moved into an all-inclusive retirement community and visiting them is like staying at a...

    Favorite Quick Service?

EPCOT: Yakitori House. Tangierine Cafe used to be a tie, but it's just not the same place anymore. Magic Kingdom: I actually like Cosmic Ray's and Friar's Nook Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree, Smiling Crocodile (even after the menu was downgraded. The open faced sandwiches they used to sell were...

If that was in the old Mikimoto store, I'm going to say that probably wasn't a really bad price. OOPS. Edit. I didn't see you typed $50K and not $50. :banghead: I was thinking "Mikimoto for $50 20 years ago would have been a steal!" :D

News Disney to develop residential communities with new 'Storyliving by Disney' business

Yeah, when my family moved to the mainland the very idea was totally foreign to us. I just always thought it was some weird east coast thing, but it was also pretty foreign to my wife who grew up in the (rural) northeast. I still remember when we moved here and got a nasty letter complaining...

What is the best park in North America outside of Disney and Universal?

Let me add Six Flags over Texas has the whole Banana Splits association which at least triples its coolness factor. At least in my odd worldview.

EPCOT Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

Yeah, that one is pretty bad, too. Even worse when you think about what used to occupy that space.

OMG. I can't even bear to imagine an HOA run by Disney Adults. Living the no HOA dream right now.

What is with the Smell of the Monorails?

Early morning, in an empty car? Smells faintly like band-aids to me and is somewhat reminiscent of Laphroaig, which is fine by me. It also smells kind of like an old Cessna. Maybe Bombardier used the same plastics as Cessna? Later in the afternoon, in the Summer? It smells like sweaty, fat people.

What is the best park in North America outside of Disney and Universal?

This. I could go either way with this poll - Busch Gardens Williamsburg, or Dollywood. I sided with Dollywood since it's such a great park and their customer service edges out BGW. BGW still could have won the day for me, if they still had their beer monorail.

    Another things wrong post

The ride photo errors seemed really excessive this year. In past years, we'd get one or two shots of random people, but this year, my gallery was full of randoms, like over 25%. And several missing photos. Whatever, that photopass is too darn expensive anyway. For us, that whole...

The de facto price increases from Genie+ and Lighting Lanes just so you can actually get on rides weren't enough?

EPCOT Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

Well we're back from Disney World. Been back for a couple of weeks. The post-Disney funk is different this time, and pretty much because of EPCOT. Yes, I rope-dropped Guardians due to my son. And then paid to ride it again because I'm a sucker contributing to the problem, and my son enjoyed it...
