Concept Art for WDW HM Updates

I love MK's Mansion exterior - better than ours at DL - but I know others who prefer the Southern plantation look too so to each his own. And it's cool that MK has the library scene. But overall, and this is probably where the what-you're-used-to philosophy comes in, I like ours better. One...

    Operation Rescue Dreamfinder

Where's the original thread on this? Are we talking about bringing the original (or update of the original) JII attraction back?? I mean, they did put Dreamfinder all over the one there now, albeit while grossly oversaturating us with HISTA. At least this version of the attraction is better...

    Changes in Toon Town

I didn't but it doesn't surprise me. And like I said, I know tons of people love it for the kids, I'm just not one of them. To each his own. My personal view is that Walt said, "...a place for parents AND their kids." Aside from Cartoon Spin, what's there for the WHOLE family? Like I said...

    It's the Tourists...

I'm not sure I'd agree on this point. We have a TON of dead space throughout the Park if you know where to look. In a region where acreage is at a premium, it seems ridiculous to have so much land sitting around that is doing nothing. We lost a lot of attractions during the Pressler/Harris...

    Space Mountain Rehab confirmed!

Our Space most definitely has drops, but only one is of significance. One poster mentioned 2/3 of the way through - is that far into the ride? - could be, but that's about right anyway. A lot of us noted, after riding the refurb version, that the drop is much less effective now with the...

    Rumors for all 4 parks

It has always cracked me up that Disney is so "concerned" about Epcot when it always comes right after the "Magic Kingdoms" in terms of worldwide attendance. Yeah, I know, I've heard all the explanations but still... aside from The Original, Epcot is my favorite Disney park bar none.

    Changes in Toon Town

Yeah, our Toontown is a sad shadow of its former self. Aside from the chandelier accident, a kid will survive if he gets hurt every now and then. When did our society become so wussy about every little thing. Scrape some knees, fall down, you'll live!! This is just my own personal view...

    Mattehorn idea from Mr. Nunis?

Totally agree! "Just b/c we can do a thing it does not follow that we must do that thing." Everest is amazing attraction - whether you're a Rhode man or a Baxter man, it's an awesome accomplishment in the current age. I also don't see how they could push out WS with the road being right...

    It's the Tourists...

Yeah, that whole article just cracked me up. Especially this: "That begs the question: just what do tourists care about when they visit WDW? And in what order should those items be placed? The following is my (subjective) list of what visitors want, placed in order of importance." As...

    It's the Tourists...

Yup, and I think DMGM needs the most serious help. Except for ToT, GMR, and RnR, there's nothing I *need* to ride there. I think DMGM has some great table service so I usually spend a morning, have lunch, and then I'm out. And slate of attractions-wise, I think MK is in good shape. Being a...

SSR or AKV..which would you buy?

When I was evaluating my decision of whether to buy or not, I read voraciously everyone's opinion here and on the DIS boards. In the end, though, it came down to a personal decision. I agree though that you can't really look at it as an investment. It's not. Consider it a treat for yourself...

    Epcot Pyro Test?

Gosh, I can't imagine Epcot anymore with RoE!! 2009, eh? Well, I guess I've only taped it like 10 times, haha! Does a 10-yr contract really mean anything, though? I mean are there royalties involved to anyone for which Disney is legally bound to no longer do it? If it's just an internal 10-year...

    O Canada Officially opens SEP.1

There are details about the film on MousePlanet's most recent WDW update. Martin Short hosts, and as someone else said Canadian Idol winner sings but it's the same song as before. At least Canada can't complain anymore about the film. I wonder what the final deal was. It was the case that...

    It's the Tourists...

So I'm a Disneylander by birth. But I am also a DVC owner and usually have both a WDW and DL AP. I love WDW entirely on its own merit and distinct from Disneyland. It's been interesting because I have certainly seen a bit of gloating by fellow Disneyland fans that Disneyland is currently in...

Is WDW's Soarin better designed than DL's?

Yes, I guess I'll have to concede the point that Epcot's is educational. But I guess I dunno how to explain it. I mean, it just feels so quickly thrown together in terms of queue. Like how can we spend the least amount of time and money in barfing up a queue and show building to get this...

Is WDW's Soarin better designed than DL's?

But I think you can agree that this isn't the whole story, right? Yes, WDW may be the cash cow of WDPR, but Disneyland's capita per square inch is nothing to be dismissed it. In Florida, it takes 47 square miles to generate the revenue. That is not proportial to the revenue DLR generates in...

    Who does the monorail speil?

Ugh, no - say it isn't so!! Do we really need to be talked at every step of the way to our destination?? I suspect though that at off-peak times drivers will probably shut the darn thing off so they don't have to hear it a million times a day.

    New Years Eve

You do know for sure it will be a problem? Reason I ask is b/c I had hip replacement surgery in 2003 and I didn't have any problems. But as I said in my reply to your post, you might wanna stake out the mid-level landing next to the merch shop at the top of the 1st set of stairs. The shop...

    Who does the monorail speil?

They did as of NYE 2005. That's your guys' version of Disneyland's ever-popular, "Remain seated please. Permaneser sentados, por favor." As for OIA, when I come in via Southwest, it is no longer Jack's voice on the OIA shuttles. It's only if I come in on the other side (I think Delta, for...

To Sea or not to Sea?

I agree with you that once I'm in WDW, I won't leave except to, begrudgingly, go back home. So what I did is if I want to visit anything outside the World, I rent a car at the airport, go do whatever, then return the car at WDW (last time National @ Dolphin).
