News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

So what do you say about the disabled kids who can’t use the LL lines because of all the DAS overuse causing them to be too long? What should they do? We can go back and forth all day, there is no one answer for everyone. Again, I’m talking about all guests, including other disabled ones...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Disney should 100% be welcoming, and they are offering accommodations. However, you need to consider all guests experiences. People make it sound like it’s DAS or nothing and that’s not the case.

And that’s where you lose me. Because you make it into “everyone hates disabled people”, which is not the case at all. The old way was causing problems for both disabled and non disabled people in both the standby and lightning lanes.

I mean you could try, but again it might be dependent on ride, queue time, etc. I don’t think it supposed to be black and white at every ride all the time. Some might find it helpful, and others will just be mad if they don’t get the same thing when they go.

But line length, party size, weather, time of day, are not consistent, so why should the answer be consistent? The answer will never be black and white.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

But again, you do know. Assume you won’t qualify for DAS and will receive the options we’ve been discussing. Other options to get shorter lines, go early or stay late when lines are shorter, go at less busy times, buy LLs. If you don’t feel a combination of those things will work for you, then...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Precisely the type of people who hang out in the fb group that shouldn’t be named. They call anyone ableist who doesn’t agree that DAS is the only acceptable answer for every disabled person and they are entitled to it.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I don’t think anyone here is uncaring. I think many are just over people thinking they should get DAS just because they are disabled. It’s a Disney policy and they’ve changed it. They’ve made other accommodations for people who no longer qualify for DAS, but many people are unwilling to accept...

But it wasn’t always available. Sometimes you couldn’t get a ride on FP, or even multiple rides. Plus people who stayed on site had a better advantage and could prebook earlier (same with LLMP).

I haven’t used the new LLMP yet. Does it normally have decent same day availability at MK?

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Do we actually know this? Because people have the ability to prebook 3 LLs with LLMP, they could just be booking ahead of time which means less same day options.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

On our last 2 visits prior to the change m, many of the LLs were long. Not really “lightning”. We had to skip a few or try to come back later. And this wasn’t just one or two due to rides being down, it was many.

This is what I’ve been reading. I haven’t been back since it’s changed, but it sounds better for both LL and standby queue users.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Has anyone heard of the LLs being super long still after the DAS change? I haven’t. What about standby?

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

This is never going to happen. Also, if FP worked for people then LLMP will as well. The issue is they don’t want to pay for it.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Ahh got it. I misunderstood your intent. Still though, people should just abide by the rules and stop cheating the system. The alternative is to get rid of DAS completely, which I’m sure many would be happy with.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Absolutely not. People are responsible for their unethical behavior, not Disney. People are choosing to lie and cheat.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Agreed, but that doesn’t give the right to that group to tell people how to get around the rules Disney created. It’s gross. I’d say the same as the people who tell others to pretend their 3yr old is 2yrs old.

Ugh, that group is despicable. Would be nice if they got shut down for essentially telling people how to lie to get what they want.
