What is the Mount Rushmore of Imagineers?

Baxter can get the nod on Indy alone. One of a handful of attractions where your jaw just drops. To take the dark ride concept from minor attractions and implement it on that scale, was and is astonishing. I'm a little cynical about some of his other stuff. Big Thunder looks pretty but is...

What is the Mount Rushmore of Imagineers?

Bob Gurr designed so many things that had never been done before. I saw him at an event around the time Disneyland's new monorails couldn't even run mid-afternoon due to heat and lack of air flow. Bob Gurr designed the original monorail which had no such issues. Someone asked him why Disney...

Wearing Mouse Ears Outside Of Disney

How am I supposed to know exactly what people mean? Anyway, some of the reactions here are over the top. Wearing Mickey ears to the grocery store isn't "normal", but I see many many examples of things that are far more inappropriate and out of place. This feels like a nothing burger.

Wearing Mouse Ears Outside Of Disney

Not every discussion forum is private. It's also easy to register for and view forums. I'd use the term "private" pretty loosely. It's not like a personal social media page one can restrict to certain people.

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

They didn't need to use the Fox cast though. That incarnation of the X-Men basically wrapped up as its' own thing. It seems odd to me that Marvel wouldn't want to develop their own version of iconic characters like Professor X and Magneto. How do you effectively do that now? I get the whole...

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

The next Avengers movie will really tell the tale of how Marvel is doing in terms of general interest. The first movies used characters that didn't necessarily set the box office on fire individually (Thor, Ant-Man) but developed good characters that were important to those big event films. My...

Wearing Mouse Ears Outside Of Disney

Bingo! Creating an account on a Disney fan site. Choosing your favourite character as an Avatar and/or screen name. Discussing your favourite attractions and meals and resorts over and over. It's all weird to someone. The judgement with a complete lack of self awareness is certainly something...

Wearing Mouse Ears Outside Of Disney

People wear t-shirts from Disney parks everywhere. I guess mouse ears are seen as weird for, reasons? That stuffs too expensive to exist solely as theme park attire.

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

Not to mention Tuesdays are the norm for digital movie releases. Not to say they couldn't try a Friday release, but it would be unusual. I imagine there's an agreement amongst movie studios not to potentially undermine theatrical releases with Friday digital releases.

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

I haven't followed this one closely, are there plans for where the old one is going away?

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

At least in 2019 the pre-booked free Fastpasses were still a thing. Having pre-booked reservations for Flight of Passage and the Mine Train really made a difference. I'm a bit nervous about USJ but I figure a lot of it is things I've done elsewhere so can keep it focused. No pressure to ride...

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

I think the secret is that all of the park operators want to maximize profits and don't really want to reduce crowds. Reservations seem more about adjusting staffing levels, including reductions in response to lower attendance days. Part of the reason there doesn't seem to be an off season...

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

Interesting that Tokyo hasn't brought back annual passes and don't appear to be suffering for it.

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

I'm going back to the Tokyo Resort this year for the first time in over 20 years. I've looked at wait times just to get a feel for what to expect and nothing seems overly terrible. Maybe it's because I've done Flight of Passage and Rise of the Resistance at the peak of their popularity, two...

News Heat Advisory Issued for Walt Disney World Area Today, July 18

Who is buying bottled water? Any quick service restaurant will give you a cup of ice water. Having heat warnings make sense. Many people aren't prepared for the combination of heat and exertion at WDW and the impact it has compared to everyday life.

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

Captain Marvel was cleverly released right before Endgame, so everyone thought they had to see it in the theaters to be current with the story.

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

It may not have had a huge impact beyond being a successful movie, but hearing that often feels like people are grasping at straws to downplay its' success. You do it again by claiming "no one loved" the films. A movie doesn't do Avatar business without positive word of mouth and repeat...
