Universal Creative VP Taking Over WDI Development

All you have to do is look at both annual attendance Cedar Point's and IOA's declining attendance to see that "Bad A$$" roller coasters are not what the general public want when they visit a theme park. The world's most popular theme parks continue to be the Magic Kingdom style parks and they...

Universal Creative VP Taking Over WDI Development

You think Space Mountain and the Matterhorn are considered "Bad A$$" thrill rides?

Universal Creative VP Taking Over WDI Development

I'm all for Disney World getting more thrill rides; but it's been proven time and time again that those are not the type of rides that "get more people to the parks."

    Disney's Hollyday/Horrorwood Studios?

Anyone who has ever lived in Florida during September-November knows that HHN is mostly a hugely hyped up local event. (If I had a Nickel for every teenager that I heard say "I'm going to Halloween Horror Nights" during September-November, I'd be a very rich man) The commercials and amount...

OFFICIAL official announcement of YOMD extension

I wish Disney would go back to advertising WDW in that format again. One of the main reasons why I wanted to go to WDW during its 25th anniversary celebration back in 1997 was because I remember seeing all those TV specials on ABC. I really miss the old WDW TV and Concert specials...

    ...sooo embarressed!

Why were you made fun of wanting to work at Disney (or Disney World I'm guessing?)? There's nothing funny about that? And it says you live in New Jersey? People in the North East love Disney World so I'm surprised they would want to make fun of someone who would want to work there. I mean...

    Cinderella's Castle Concept Art

Cinderella Castle is seriously my favorite thing in the entire WDW resort complex. All those lights make the Castle look amazing and I can't wait to see them in action in real life. I would buy a WDW AP or a One-Day ticket just see this Castle lit up for Christmas.

1st Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Pics

As much as I love Christmas, I think Magic Kingdom really looks its best during Halloween. All of the colors and decorations that are used during the Halloween holiday season fit the park so perfectly. And it looks like they added a lot more decorations to Main Street than they did when I...

    It's the Tourists...

No, comparing the TokyoDisneyland's quality was not the point of my statement. That would just lead to another debate... (TokyoDisneyland is exactly like DLR in that it is a mostly local-fed market aswell) And I think the growth you're talking about with DL is taking place at WDW as well...

    It's the Tourists...

Yea, I'm all for WDW's attendance growing. And it is growing. But Magic Kingdom park can't honestly receive over 25 million guests per year. The most visitors Tokyo Disneyland ever received in year was a little over 18 million I believe. And Magic Kingdom is getting pretty close to that...

    It's the Tourists...

LOL, I try to tell myself that each time I stumble onto a thread like this. But it seems like there's always one person that will turn the thread into a debate and I have to join in... At the end of the day, they're both owned by Disney and Disney is enjoying all of the money and rewards...

    It's the Tourists...

Alright, That's great for DLR, but it also sounds like it's just playing catch up to WDW. (WDW already has a larger DTD, more hotels, 2 more theme parks, yadda, yadda, yadda) And all that stuff has yet to happen, so how can someone say that it has helped the resort significantly...

    It's the Tourists...

At the risk of sounding like a broken record... You're creating a problem where a problem doesn't exist. Sure WDW would have the most to lose IF tourism went under. But is it? No, more people are visiting WDW than ever. WDW is the most visited place on Earth. There's no way that tourism...

    It's the Tourists...

It would depend on what things were added. If all Magic Kingdom got was a bunch of DL upgrades, then no, the average Floridian couldn't be bothered. But if Magic Kingdom got let's say, a new roller coaster like Fire Mountain in Fantasyland, then yea, the average Floridian may become...

    It's the Tourists...

You're trying to create a problem where a problem doesn't exist. Most of your recent posts are in a tone that sounds like WDW is in some kind of danger of going bankrupt or something. WDW is thriving and continues to rake in plenty of cash for the Disney company. The Walt Disney...

    It's the Tourists...

I don't think so... The Floridians I talk to don't like WDW *Especially Magic Kingdom* because of the lack of thrill rides the park has to offer. Floridians refer to it mainly as a kid park and rarely see the "Disney Magic" people from across the country/world would see as they walk into...

    It's the Tourists...

The article doesn't make any sense. WDW's attendance continues to increase year after year. The general public is not complaining at all, only the die-hard internet Disney theme park geeks are. WDW has survived over 30 years on tourists alone, and tourists have made WDW the most visited...

    NO Harry Potter for Disney!

Anyone who thinks Universal’s “Harry Potter” addition will even slightly challenge Walt Disney World’s monopoly on the Orlando theme park market is crazy. Even when Islands of Adventure opened back in 1999, it didn’t prove itself popular enough to beat out its sister park Universal Studios...

    WDW Florida or Disneyland California

Blah, Blah, Blah...:p If you read my posts before it already dealt with those dark rides that I and a lot of other visitors to WDW find boring. As I said before, "I feel WDW has so much more quality than DLR because DLR doesn't offer the grand scale of the Magic Kingdom, the world...

    WDW Florida or Disneyland California

Everybody knows that 60% of that 14.7 million visitors ALL live within 50 miles of DLR and are just locals. While pracitcially all of WDW visitors are from out of state and are tourists. DLR could never survive on its own if it relied on tourists. BTW: I'm not even a Floridian, I'm...
