    2008 Attendance Figures Announced

One major thing that popped out at me from the report is that it states that the Magic Kingdom park welcomed its 1 billionth (yes, Billionth) guest back in September of 2008! Was that ever officially acknowledged by Disney? That is a beyond huge milestone that I don't believe any other...

Thursday 9th April - Magic Kingdom closed to some guests (phase 2 closing at 11:30am)

Any news if Magic Kingdom closed early today? It's kind of ironic that nothing has been reported yet considering today is the start of the weekend.

Thursday 9th April - Magic Kingdom closed to some guests (phase 2 closing at 11:30am)

Wow this is amazing! Is this a new record? Has the Magic Kingdom ever closed 3 days in a row like this due to capacity before? I really can't wait to see the attendance numbers for 2009! BTW: Please post more pictures please!

Magic Kingdom closed to ALL guests due to reaching absolute capacity (phase 4)

Not to mention probably at least an hour, two, or possibly more just to get back to your car... I'm looking forward to seeing how the theme park attendance numbers will be for 2009. (If 2008's numbers ever come out:rolleyes:) I hope somebody will also post pictures if they were in the park...

    The ORIGINAL Tower of Terror

Does ToT actually drop the entire 13 stories as advertised? I like the random drop sequences, but it sucks if you get stuck with a sequence where the first drop feels like you've only fallen 10 feet. I'd much rather the first drop be the most intense and actually drop the entire 13 stories.

    Disney Bankrupt

It's hard to imagine WDW ever going bankrupt when you consider how overpriced just about everything is in the entire resort. I would like to know how much profit Disney makes off of the Magic Kingdom parking lot alone... Seriously, $5 for a bag of cotton candy and I see lines of people...

Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It! Street Party preview performance photos and video

While looking at the WDWMagic News history page I found out that the parade I saw back in January was the "Celebrate a Dream Come True" parade which does look a lot different from this new one but I'm assuming obviously shares the same theme?. Did Disney keep any thing from the "Celebrate a...

Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It! Street Party preview performance photos and video

Really.:) I enjoyed whatever parade I saw back in January but I honestly thought that Disney was taking the cheap route by just changing up the first float. I think this parade looks great and I can't wait to experience it the next time I'm at Magic Kingdom. BTW: I actually LIKE the party...

Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It! Street Party preview performance photos and video

I'm confused. I saw a parade in January that I believe was called the same thing but the parade was basically the same as the "Family Fun" and "Share a Dream Come True" parade except for the first float. Is this an entirely new parade or are they still using the same floats as the ones...

    American Idol Experience Grand Opening

I think Disney did a great job with the "premiere party" last night. They did a great job in hyping up the attraction and it was cool to see how many American Idol stars showed up. Disney's Hollywood Studios is supposed to represent a Studio; so I'm not sure how claiming that an attraction...

There is no attendance problem at WDW

Well I assume you went on a Monday in January which will change the attendance levels a bit. I just went to MK this past weekend and the park was surprisingly really crowded.

    Crowd Levels are High

Yup, I just went to Magic Kingdom this past weekend and the park was really crowded. Granted it was a weekend, but for the park to be that busy in January was surprising. It certainly does not appear that WDW is having any attendance problems at all.

Where'd the Trees in Magic Kingdom's Central Hub Go?

That sounds like a great idea that I wish Disney would have used before tearing down every single tree in that area. I didn't even realize that there were more trees that Disney tore down before the central hub until I looked at some old photos I took back in 2001. Main Street looked so much...

Where'd the Trees in Magic Kingdom's Central Hub Go?

I think too much of the castle is visible from Main Street now.:brick: It doesn't seem like there was ever any intentions to view Cinderella Castle completely while walking down Main Street. It would be like Disney tearing down all the trees around the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom so...

Where'd the Trees in Magic Kingdom's Central Hub Go?

I can understand viewing angle complaints, but why are people complaining specifically about Wishes? Was there any problem with the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks display? I would have thought Disney would have thought more about the park's theming integrity before deciding to fold so quickly...

Where'd the Trees in Magic Kingdom's Central Hub Go?

I think those trees had a great purpose though and really added to atmosphere of that part of the park. I know a lot of people also liked how the lights would sparkle on them at night too. The central hub is just one really big slab of concrete now.

Where'd the Trees in Magic Kingdom's Central Hub Go?

I know it had been done a while back, but I had no idea exactly when and why. I had no idea so much work had been done... And I can't believe Disney did all of that for temporary below average castle stage show.:( The entire central hub looks very awkward now and obviously has looked so for...

Where'd the Trees in Magic Kingdom's Central Hub Go?

What happened to the trees that used to be located in the central hub of the Magic Kingdom right after Main Street? And why did Disney decide to remove them? The trees added a good sense of realism to the castle environment and were used as a good transition and separation from the Main Street...

    Frigid January Numbers ...

It appears that the 4 night, 3 day free promotion is working for WDW. It was reported yesterday on forbes.com that hotels bookings are slightly up for the next year... http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2008/12/09/ap5799769.html
