I mean, on the most literal level they did sign off on it, so.

It's a little hard to see in the light, but Louis is back there with his head under a wheelbarrow looking for critters. Presumably his movements are meant to shake the okra, though truthfully I'm not sure the Louis figure actually has any movement of its own . . . it's odd.

The "entirety of the internet" isn't talking about this. It's a fraction of a fraction of a fraction. Even if it seems like a lot. Let's all make the effort to have some perspective about this.

Anyone prefer Magic Kingdom over Disneyland?

I grew up visiting WDW, and for years I'd heard people dismiss Disneyland due to it being smaller. I just sort of believed that until I visited Disneyland for the first time at age 10 - it was a revelation. Smaller, yes, but so much richer than MK that I felt it even at 10. Around seemingly...

And all I did was throw in some more animals in Photoshop. Imagine if I'd really sat down and staged something! One of the biggest sins here is having unpopulated environments in spaces that were once populated. There are obviously other issues - some genuinely puzzling - but I really think...

Phantom Manor vs Pirates of the Caribbean

I found myself feeling somewhat disappointed by the Phantom Manor changes - I think on a technical level it mostly looks better than ever, Phantom Canyon excluded for reasons you mention (also the loss of the Zombie-Phantom was TRAGIC, that was a fantastic and freaky "what the ?!" moment), but I...

The video elements that work best for me in Na'vi River Journey are the faux-waterfall, the caterpillar-like creatures crawling over the log, and the Na'vi that seem to be migrating along the backdrops. They don't completely hold up to scrutiny, but they work by staging themselves in such a way...

MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

The discourse surrounding this ride has been torrential from day one. People here tend to speak critically of Disney and its movements, but this has been uniquely bad. I agree that there's plenty to criticize about this attraction, but that's why it's important to engage in good faith. People...

MK Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

Please forgive the photoshopped nightmare-fuel CGI animal character designs - but think how much of a difference would be made by simply filling the empty spaces with more critter figures. Have them coming out of the woodwork to hear the bands play and dancing along. Squint if you have to...

I mean, there are good points that have been made about the way he's represented in the movie having some issues. That said, Disney really doesn't give the impression at all that they're actually concerned about such things, let alone purposefully excluding him. He shows up all the time - just...

MK Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

It's not a very convincing attempt, but having Tiana's giant face on a screen in the Shrunken scene is meant to feel to the audience like she's "there", the way she's "there" when you go by her Animatronic, not like you're seeing her on a screen. In Tiana's world there are no screens. But it's a...

MK Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

It's because the screens are meant to match the other 3D representations of the characters in the ride. You're meant to feel like you're in their world, and in their world they're not flat animations. The better choice would have been to use Animatronics in place of the screens, but if there...

In fairness, most of what's present in that number is in the ride. The song, the scenery, Louis dancing, the bevy of fireflies . . . even Ray's vocal, anarchonistically.

The ride is nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe. It’s just truly not as good as it should be.

You really don't see how the humans are stylized in the same fashion? The shapes of the faces, the eyes, the mouths, even the slopes of the shoulders? Again, one is rendered as a faux-linocut and the other two are faux-silkscreens, but come on. The stylization of the people is totally related.
