Liberty Tree Tavern closing in July for near 5 month refurbishment.

Good point. That could easily explain the large block of time for this.

Liberty Tree Tavern closing in July for near 5 month refurbishment.

If it's the original kitchen from the 1970s then yes. I would suspect it's woefully inefficient at this point. Plus with all the rumors getting kicked around about something possibly happening with the Veranda side, it could be a plan to get the kitchen up to speed to handle two facilities.

Liberty Tree Tavern closing in July for near 5 month refurbishment.

Obviously with this still being months away there's plenty of time to speculate, but I agree that it's most likely a renovation of the kitchen as well as ADA upgrades, or even a complete redo of the entire restaurant. A new kitchen could take up a smaller space ( or bigger, depending on what...

    restaurants to try

Just based on trying new places, not based on cost, any reviews or personal preference (well maybe a little lol). Some are table service, some are quick service/counter service, and I tried to keep it to a few at each location: In The Parks Magic Kingdom - The Plaza, Columbia Harbour House...

    Making sure rooms are together

I have heard that faxing still can help, and that it doesn't matter. I would go with the "it can't hurt" theory and do it, as well as all the other suggestions. I used to have pretty good success with it in the distant past. Make sure to request it via phone as well and make sure it gets onto...

    High Capacity/Tractor Trailer Disney Transport

Very interesting. I wonder if they were put into service for a specific need (heavy crowds) or were they being evaluated as part of a test?

    Disney Store Outlet

I was in that store a few years ago and it was pretty sad. Very little to offer an adult from a clothing standpoint and no park merch. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Granted...I am sure I will be in there again whenever I make it over that way on another trip... Oh...

    Animal Kingdom Lodge

Definitely plan to spend time exploring the resort. It's amazing. Eat at Boma and Jiko both if you can. Two of my favorites. Oh...and giraffes. They have giraffes. :D

    Ft Wilderness Railroad

I grew up in Winter Garden and made so many trips to WDW back in the day and couldn't have cared less about trains, let alone trains at FW. Now, I'm all grown up and a huge train nerd and kick myself for not knowing about this until a few years ago. Nice to see I'm not the only one who's...

    5 adults, 1 x 11yo - cheapest on-world stay?

Interesting topic. Any chance you could add some specifics? Group makeup, time of year, what level of accommodations you are looking for...that sort of thing. There are numerous options for you, but they can vary a good bit based on the things I mentioned. Throw some of that info out if you...

    New phased Closing Nomenclature?

It's kind of sad that I realized that I sort of wish I was there, but only so I could walk around and look at all the ridiculous lines... And maybe a Dole Whip....

Imagine a world where Walt never existed

It's interesting to think about how tourism in Florida would be different. Would Universal have come to be? Would the smaller / roadside attractions flourished? Would Cypress Gardens have thrived?

    Tipping in Hotels

I have been in retail/foodservice management for 25 years...so this post keeps turning into a rant about tipping... So I will just stick to the basics...I always tip housekeeping a few bucks per day for the work they do. In any hotel. They have to deal with an inordinate amount of...

    Confess your Disney Sins!!!!

Like so many others....Turkey Legs...ugh...:hungover: Ate one about 15 years ago and that was the end of that.. Every time we do Hall of Presidents I end up getting elbowed in the ribs for snoring... I torture my girlfriend, a WDW newbie, by not telling her where any of the on ride photos...

    Largest Disney Pawn Shop Opens

I have bought several items from their ebay store, typically some books or pins and such. Everything has always been exactly as offered, and arrives promptly. My one negative experience was when I won an auction and the item showed as shipped but never arrived. I contacted TPC and was told...

    Best steak on disney property

It's been a while since I have eaten at California Grill but had a great steak there. My current favorite is the steak at Jiko. It's a must do for me every trip.

    Which Deluxe?

Out of the options you mention, hands down Animal Kingdom Lodge. Upgrade to a Savannah View and fall in love with the place.
