    Kevin Yee- Airing of Grievances

In my opinion, senior Disney management could commission a 3 or 4 million dollar consultant's study of WDW, and not come up with anything more on-point, accurate, and actionable than what Kevin Yee has written. I feel like printing-out his article, putting it in a frame, and mailing it to Tom...

Using FastPass+ Means You Can't Get A Regular FastPass?

There was a small side-comment in a recent thread on FP+ tha seems to have gone uncommented-on: basically that of you're in the parks on FP+, you're unable to get a regular FP. Does anyone know anything about this? If true, this seems pretty ugly: so in between my pre-scheduled FP+...

    Disney Buying LucasFilm! WHOA

OK. I'll admit that I'm one of those "aging Baby Boomers," and my frame of reference is more Davy Crockett than Han Solo. Clearly the business opportunities associated with this are amazing. I would also agree that Disney's focus has to be on the incomes and families of the 30- and...

    Rumor from a Monorail worker.

While we've been to WDW a number of times, we took our first monorail trip last year. Was amazed at the small capacity. Went away with the feeling that monorails were one part attraction, one part boutique transportation system. Maybe 20 years ago when the parks were at far less average capacity...

Walt Disney Travel Company identifies 6 types of Disney Travelers

Reacting to another part of the travel agent story: If I had been in a large room with several hundred people, and the Mickey Mouse Club logo came up, and everyone started singing "the song," golly I would have just lost it <tear>.

    Epcot France rumor?

Totally agree. Went with an open mind last year; should have suspected something when we were literally the only family on the boat around 4:30. Awful. The prior version of the ride was a little lame but the Three Amigos retread is something we'll never do again.

what are your 3 worst restaurant choices in WDW

    1) ABC Commissary 2) 50's Prime Time 3) I can't believe I'm saying this, but the single worst meal on our trip last year was <gasp> Jiko. Was our best meal in 2006, but was just awful in 2011. Was a lot to pay for an "off night."

What makes you sad at Disney World

Never knowing whether a visit is the last one with our daughter (who is now 26 and one of these days will be married and/or decide she's too old to go to the World with her parents)!

Disney’s RFID "Magic Band" arrives on the FCC

It would certainly not seem to be removable, as hospital bracelets and water park bracelets are not. So what would that mean for, say, a 10-day stay? Wearing the band for the full stay, through swimming and showers and sweat and sunblock? Or, if it's truly a one-day thing, getting 10 of these...

Is Epcot about to get some love?

Sadly, I must agree with you. EPCOT has long been our favorite park, but when we were there last year I repeatedly caught myself talking about what was, what we did on prior trips, and how things used to be, and what we missed. Like a once-great restaurant that has gone downhill, and is only...

    Song of the South?

I think it's less about "racism" than about it's being Politically Incorrect. A flew days ago there was a news story about a school official somewhere in the Western US that stated peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were potentially racist. In a society like this, no sane arguments seem to be...

    Timely question about Epcot now

I voted 25% Future World because that was the closest for us, but in reality it's closer to 35% Future, 65% World Showcase. We can't do Imagination in its current sorry state; Energy Adventure doesn't call to us any more; the Land has just become entry to Soarin'. We miss Living Seas the way it...

Do you have a collection of your room keys?

I always keep my old KTTW card in my wallet "for luck" until our next trip, and ceremonially take it out as we leave for the airport. Crazy, I know.

The "Field Guides" to Each of the Parks

Some years ago Disney published (by "The Imagineers") a set of nice, pocket-sized "Field Guides" to each of the parks. Was looking through mine and wondered if Disney might have any plans to update these, or if they were a one-off type of thing. Anyone know?

Poster Art Of The Disney Parks

Just got my copy from Amazon today, ordered early last week. Great book, something to really savor - and quite a walk down "Memory Lane."

First the napkins, now the cups?

Not really though -- more about an intangible, hard-to-define specialness, an aura apart from daily life that's made up of numerous little things, of which cups and napkins and other little things combine together to make up an environment we cherish.

    Tree of Life repair work?

Would love to get Lee's take on this. So is the deal that it's easier to rope things off than to fix them? Or is there a deeper concern that the Tree of Life has such significant potential structural issues that big buck$ need to be found to do an engineering assessment? I can't imagine a worse...

If only we had Disney Parks commercials like this here in America...

Someone should lock Bob Iger in a room with a few of the "sharp pencil boys" and play these for about 24 hours straight, and see if they get a little Disney Magic back!
