    Pre-visit traditions

We have a timeshare and usually book last week of April or First week of May. Someday when I can afford it, I'll upgrade to DVC, I really want to!!!! We book our trip then start tightening our belts. First, is getting tickets. That means once a month or so going to the Disney Store and...

What ride/attraction is the most original for you made by WDI???

I know you love the cruise, but second best attraction, I wanna hear this debate!! Bring it on.

What ride/attraction is the most original for you made by WDI???

I know many people are going to disagree with me but I think currently it has to be EE. I've always loved coasters of all kinds and was, once upon a time, a member of American Coaster Enthusiasts. I've ridden suspended, standing, sitting, going backwords, even a wooden roller coaster with a...

New Pittsburgh Meetup This Wed May 13th...

Well, if I can make it there'll be 4 or 5 of us. It all depends on whether my 13 yo is out of the hospital by then. I don't think they'll release her today, but if they do tomorrow night we may or may not be able to at depending on what time. [sigh] Nothing's ever easy. I'll talk it over...

    DHS = Florida's DCA?

I have to agree, I haven't done this in many years and my youngest children have never seen it. While I would miss the canyon, the idea of a backlot tour from a closed studio doesn't make much sense. I wouldn't mind a new show, but I still enjoy the current one. Here I have to disagree. I...

Favorite Memory of Disney everyone says couldn't've happened, but you swear it did!

Aside from all of the "tongue in cheek" comments that this thread has been reduced to, I strongly remembered from my first trip in 1976 that IASW was round more like COP didn't remember the boat at all.

    The great "stroller" conspiracy.

I really find this pretty harsh. Last year when we went to WDW, my wife was between her 3rd and 4th back surgery. We drove in and parked in the handicapped parking area and my healthy looking wife at 32 years old got out and strolled into the park looking as healthy and happy as any other...

    The great "stroller" conspiracy.

I've seen what you're talking about too. But, you'll be happy to know that my son is turning 4 in August and when we go in September, he'll be walking. I've seen this kid run around in circles for hours and I'll be damned if I'll push him through WDW. So one less stroller for the OP to trip over.

Finally Double Figures - How Long For You???

I should be there right now. Was supposed to arrive 5/2/2009 but we had to postpone because my wife had back surgery a few weeks ago. So now I'm at 120 days until my trip. On the plus side we'll get to go to MNSSHP for the first time on 9/10/2009. Depending on how you look at it, another...

Which ride have you NOT ridden at Disney World?

Never did the riverboat, I live in Pittsburgh and on our 3 Rivers we have the Gateway Clipper Fleet. Several times during the year we go on a clipper boat ride, or dinner cruize. I even was best man for a wedding on one. Didn't see the point. Everything else, (ok, except Sounds Dangerous)...

    The Perfect Age?

You know everyone always says the standard line that "they'll never remember" it if you take them too young. So what! I remember it. It's my vacation too. I have some great pictures of my, then almost 2 year old, dancing with Stitch, hugging Areal and Mickey, etc. There's nothing better...

Why No Broadway Type Theater at WDW

I agree with the OP. Not one of the abbreviated shows that they have in the parks. I want something to do on the nights I'm not going to the parks, something adult that doesn't involve guzzling tons of alcohol but still pleasantly Disney. I'd love to get dressed up and go to a full length...

When you drive to Disney do you always know which park you're visiting that day?

We drive down from Pittsburgh, at least, once a year. We leave on Friday, drive all night, and arrive Saturday afternoon. We always go to MK on Sunday because they have later hours. The rest of the week is planned out usually around dinner reservations and/or later hours. We don't stay...

Do you remember your first trip to DW?

Yes, I remember, but not much of it. It was 1976, and I was 9 years old. I remember needing tickets for everything. I remember It's a Small World, SM, COP, what was the show in tomorrowland where you had to stand and there was a 360 degree movie? and, of course, 20k most of all. My fondest...

    Had to cancel trip

Everyone is so supportive. Thank you all. I am very optimistic about my wife's recovery. Her recovery is going better this time than any of her previous surgeries. I'm going to try to look at this as a blessing. Maybe our next trip, my wife won't be in a wheelchair by the end of the day as...

    Had to cancel trip

Well, we were planning a trip for May 2nd which we now had to cancel. It's been a tough couple of weeks, first I had to have my gallbladder removed on the March 31st, then my wife had to have a 4th back surgery on the April 6th, and last, but not least, my 7 year old broke her ankle on the...

    MNSSHP Ticket Price

Please, before you flame me for not using search, I did. I read 30 or more threads with "MNSSHP" and "PRICE" in them. Never found the actual price. We just canceled our May vacation because my wife needs her forth back surgery April 6 and won't be able to travel that soon. So we rescheduled...

wheres 'your' spot in the parks?

You're gonna laugh, but the parking lots are my favorite. We don't have a lot of money and with my wife being disabled I don't see any riches in our future. We go to WDW on a shoestring budget since we have a timeshare there is no additional costs. We buy one 4-day pass each month on the...
