My guess is in order for the call box to work, the cabin has to be powered on. This is indicated by the green light by the door. When I was there opening weekend, some cabins were not working and had red lights. Some cast members would notice the red lights and direct people to other cabins...

Doppelmayr has signed an agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line and a local partner to build a gondola system for what is basically an Alaskan theme park. The system will have two lines and be capable of moving 5,600 guests per hour. Scooter and wheelchair accessible. Sound familiar...

Isn't it more like 21 days not counting today and the days it was closed due to the incident? That would be 3,400 guests per hour. But per hour/direction/line 567 or less than 16 percent of rated capacity.

Are there still Skyliner-specific Disney cast members at the stations? If they get furloughed, that would be a bad sign.

This is definitely a black eye. The cabins appear to already have been separated. These things happen at ski areas sometimes and rarely make the news. I hope there are no injuries.

This is a legitimate issue... You can’t really hear the voice from below but the chime is very noticeable when walking underneath a line.

It looked to me like when the plug is pushed in, it just sticks out the other (tower) side. I think there are proximity switches before the door openers that detect the pushed out plugs and send a signal to the PLC which in turn activates the door rails to change position.

Four large stations is a lot for one line. Multiply every possible stop times four (or five because Riviera has double everything.) A LOT of chances for things to come up that affect the whole line.

I'm sure the ratio is adjustable but I counted multiple times today and it was always every 15th cabin. At one point during testing I recall it was more like every 10th or 12th. The ratio has to stay constant during the operating day because ECV cabins also need to be pulled off at the other...
