1 week to ADR's... any comments or suggestions?

Though it comes in the middle of the day, I'd suggest taking in High Tea at the Grand Floridian. They have GREAT tea (try the Eros!!!) and really enjoyable "small" meals. You can always check out the menu at allearsnet.com to see what is offered. My 2 cents.... dave

Is it a time-waster to leave a park to eat at a resort?

As some of the above posters have noted, which resort you should plan to eat at should be based upon the location closest to the park you're visiting for the day. My wife and I like several of the resort restaurants, but we've been to Disney lots of times and feel that we don't have to see...

Favorite WDW Restaurants from the Past

62 posts and, although the OP was asking about "places" and not "items, I'm shocked that no one mentioned the Columbia Harbor House bread bowl..... I agree that the Monte Cristo was good, but the bread bowls were MUCH better.... :slurp: my 2 cents... dave

    Adults eating from childrens menu

As you live in Mandeville, please be aware that your local, "normal" portions of food equals the amount of food contained in 3 meals anywhere else in the US..... :ROFLOL: J/K....my wife was born and raised in NOLA; however, she's the skinniest person I know..... dave

    Romantic but not too fancy?!

I'd vote for Cali Grill or High Tea at the Grand Floridian. Both have great food; however, High Tea was a lot less crowded when we were there last fall. my 2 cents... dave

Should I bother with the Disney Dining Plan?

High Tea at the Grand Floridian happens every day from 2-6 (I think the days/times are correct). They have nice adult beverages, but the EROS tea is the most fantastic tea either of us have ever drank...so much so that I found the place in Canada that makes it and ordered some for us. Anyway...

Should I bother with the Disney Dining Plan?

I think it depends on how MUCH you want to eat. Personally, I like the dining plan (at least the OLD dining plan) because you don't have to worry about anything other than getting to your ADRs on time. My wife (who is a fitness junkie and is REALLY in shape) thinks that the dining plan causes...

Need your advice and help on my dining lineup!

I'd skip Mama Melrose (it's ok food, but nothing special) and go for 50's Prime Time (yummy s'mores) or the Sci Fi Theatre...... Both of those restaurants are MUCH more unique than MM. Also, I believe that the 2009 Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT CENTER starts on Sept. 25. As long as your...

Question on tipping with free dining plan

For your benefit, I'm adding a link to a printable tip table. I've seen these for sale at certain stores. They are about the size/durability of a credit card. It will help with the calculations on 15% and 20% tips. If you want to give 25%, just divide the 20% number by 4 and then add it to...

What is your favorite sit-down dinner restaurant in the Magic Kingdom?

The wife and I won't eat at any of the table service restaurants in the MK. We always opt to park hop for dinner and go to one of the following: 1.) Cali. Grill 2.) Le Cellier 3.) Rose and Crowne 4.) Chefs de France (before the quality took a nosedive) We also enjoy the afternoon Tea at...

    Rate a Ride

Rides: Aladdin's Magic Carpets: Never been on Jungle Cruise: 6 Pirates Of The Caribbean: 9 (old version 10) Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management: 1 (old version 8) Swiss Family Robinson Tree House: 5 (still fun to walk thru and get away from the crowds...however, if crowded 2)...

    Doing Something Special

I'd suggest heading over to the GF for High Tea one afternoon. My wife and I did this last fall for the first time and found the food and tea (especially the Eros) to be great!! We're planning a High Tea lunch on every WDW trip from here on out. My 2 cents... dave

    An update on EROS Tea....

As some of you may have read last week, after searching far and wide, I located the vendor who purported to sell EROS tea to WDW for High Tea at the Grand Floridian. The company, Tealeaves, is in Canada and has a very easy to deal with website. www.tealeaves.com My order was delivered last...

Does anyone remember this 1988 Celebration?

Yes. That topiary was put up by the nice folks at WDW after I ate 200 Dole Whip Floats in one sitting (still a personal best, by the way).... Oh, the days of yore..... :king: dave

    Eros Tea

I think it's Monday - Friday, but I'm unsure. If you call the Grand Floridian, I'm sure that they'll give you the whole breakdown...plus, you can make reservations!! Also, www.allearsnet.com has the GF high tea menu... dave

    Eros Tea

For all of you not in the know, the Eros tea served during High Tea at the Grand Floridian is some of the best tea served anywhere......I'm not kidding..... For those of you who read the Dole Whip Posts, you're aware that the Dole Whip Float is, by far, my favorite edible goody in all of WDW...

    Help with Birthday meals

I understand your question is about multiple day meals, however, your daughter can celebrate her birthday on every day of your trip....just have her wear her birthday button (given out at guest services) every day. Therefore, no super, too full moments no any given day from too many sit down...
