Why are you cancelling your trip while it's still possible than for fall the mask policies will be different ? It's not a permanent policy, it's just following the positive trend of contamination. The dropping mask policy can occurs in a few week if the wave is over.

Horrific, it depends. You will catch the covid even if you are vaccinated. If there is 400 000 people with the covid, but with less than 10 deaths/day, it is a success. So now we have to take a look to the deaths trends, hoping for a slow and low trends.

You can't compare the US and UK situations. UK is vaccinated with AZ which doesn't work so well with India variant. Then there is a lot of first shoot but not a lot of fully vaccinated, like Canada in sort of. Also, it is inevitable that the number of case will rise after the lockdown end...

Yes the early December period seems to be the best christmas period to go. We avoid the thanksgiving period before and the huge and heavy holidays crowd period after mid-December.

You can have the covid even if you are vaccinated, but you have 99,999% chance of not going to hospital. It is why, i hope, when our countries will be almost full vaccinated, we will not take the number of cases into account, but only the ICU saturation / number of deaths.
