Why is WDW so stressful, expensiv and overcrowded these days? The fear of dissapointment from a 2020-First-Timer

First off, and this isn't necessarily directed at you OP, but it's hard to argue that WDW is both overcrowded and overpriced. It really can't be both, because if it was overpriced, it wouldn't be overcrowded. Actually, data suggests that it's underpriced, since it's constantly crowded. A...

What's the max amount of time you could spend at WDW without getting bored?

To each their own, but you'd think some people on here were talking about Vegas, not WDW. Whether it's been a short weekend or a two week vacation, I've never gotten sick or bored of the World. There's just so much to actually do, and not do, that you can pick your own adventure. This is coming...

What was it like when you first went to Disney World?

First trip was in 1999, with my parents and sister, while I was in the third grade. Pre 9/11, you were able to go through airport security without a boarding pass. My mom made up a story about having to travel for work, and we all went to the airport to see her off. As she's about to board her...

Opinions on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (Poll)

Personally, I'm good with the new lands (I thought GE was very cool, and while I hate TSL during the day, I think it's aesthetically pleasing at night), and I do like that they're separate areas. However, I agree with you when it comes to Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Blvd, and Echo Lake, hell even...

    News Tomorrowland love

I should have said the ride experience only. Again, it's been years since I rode the DL version, but I remember both it and TDL being much smoother. However, I agree about the overall experience. Despite it being "rough", I still ride it multiple times/trip, just because I love the ambiance of it.

    News Tomorrowland love

We went to Tokyo this year, and I thought that was the best version of Space that I've been on. I've only been to WDW and DLR though, so not much of a comparison point. DLR Space is definitely better than WDW's.

What are the smallest crowds you've experienced in WDW?

My wife and I have been going regularly for the past 5 years, and over our last trip (9/15-9/23) was easily the lowest crowds we've ever experience. Sans the Friday afternoon-Saturday crowds, we pretty much walked on to every ride, and FP+ were readily available. We also went over to Universal...

Is there a "typical or average" WDW visitor/family?

I understand this sentiment, because as we all know, Disney is quite expensive. However, judging by crowd sizes all year round, I find it hard to believe that they're pricing too many people out. To answer your question though, with zero research and minimal thought, I would think that the...

Should Disney make a donation for the rebuilding of the Notre Dame Cathedral?

Is Hunchback of Notre Dame in the Vault? If so, maybe re-release it, with all proceeds going to restoration efforts? However, I do echo a few comments above that, unfortunately since it's a religious building, that there would be a Twitter uproar. Although, it would be nice to see a major...

'rude' or 'ignorant'......that is the question.

Also in contention: "Jerry, this is Frank Constanza. Steinbrenner is here. George is dead! Call me back."

'rude' or 'ignorant'......that is the question.

I do a lot of traveling for work. So, I end up essentially living in airports, which I feel are a microcosm of our society, and could probably be analogized to fit WDW too. Anyway, my theory is that society is probably ~80% incompetent and ~20% entitled, especially when it comes to existing in a...

POLL: What is your favorite park and most importantly, why?

It changes by the hour, but I'd probably have to say that the most relaxed I feel at WDW is at Animal Kingdom. Wife and I like to go to AK at rope drop, maybe hit up FoP, and then knock out Everest and Safari. Usually, it's only 9a by the time we're done, and I like to grab a seat at the Dawa...

Visited WDW! From a DL veterans perspective (Food & Attraction comments - a detailed analysis)

Glad you liked the Dolphin. While it's not "Disney", the wife and I both love it, since we're Marriott folks and can use points to stay there. We love the location mostly, since we spend a lot of our nights walking around World Showcase.

How has Toy Story Land (TSL) held up?

TSL at night is very aesthetically pleasing, especially toward the tail end of the night, when it's not very crowded. During the day, however, it's too damn packed, there's no escape from the sun, and it doesn't really offer much visually, in my opinion. I'm a fan, but I very much prefer it at...

News Friendship Boat Service to Epcot unavailable due to Skyliner construction

We are Swan and Dolphin people. We usually take the boat to DHS (well, always now that the construction makes you walk an extra mile it seems). For Epcot, we usually walk, unless we are super tired/boat is there. Even then, we only take it to Yacht and Beach, since it would take longer to take...

Raising prices yet again!!!! enough is enough!

I don't want to get into politics, but I tend to think that one's fiscal beliefs play a huge part in how you see this. In theory, it's just a simple understanding of supply and demand. The demand is obviously there, so the only way to curtail it is to continue to increase prices. WE complain...

Where in Epcot can you catch water taxi to Dolphin resort?

Since we're Marriott people, Swan and Dolphin are our "home resorts". The walk is very enjoyable, but if you have trouble walking, I'd definitely recommend the boat. However, as many above noted, it's not a quick ride. If your just parking at Epcot and then immediately heading to S&D, I'd...
