News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I’m aware it’s invisible, yes. I just think a large portion of people who have used DAS without truly needing it aren’t the kind of people to try to pass themselves off as autistic. It’s a pretty big leap from exaggerating your IBS to looking someone in the eye and fabricating a mental illness.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Did you mean to quote someone else’s post? I don’t see any way that your response has anything at all to do with what I said.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I think a large number of people who had no problem doing any of these things: 1. Telling the truth about a condition that would get them approved for DAS even though they didn’t really need it 2. Embellishing the severity of a real condition they had 3. Lying about a DAS qualifying condition...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I find it so strange the wording they have chosen to use. “Like autism or similar”? And that specific verbiage is now in two places. It looks like something you’d write in a draft and then leave yourself a note to come back and finish later.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Wouldn’t an amendment to how the board is selected effectively be the same thing? RCID was never dismantled, just renamed.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

I’m not sure there was any point to the state level litigation anyway. Wasn’t all of that moot the moment the state of Florida retroactively nullified the contract?

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

The state case doesn’t even have a reason to exist. The contract was voided retroactively by a new targeted law.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Is this a serious question? 😂 They aren’t subjected to an obstructionist, unelected board in a district that oversees them that was put in place specifically to cause problems for them.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

There are no deals to be made with people who have no capacity to make deals.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Well, maybe the Poly, to an extent. The best part of staying in the GF or Contemporary is walking back and forth from the magic kingdom. And then for GF and Poly there’s also the boats, which you can increase the number of.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

How would they go about getting themselves out of something they had no part in and have no control over?

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Of course they are paying for both sides of it. The answer to how long they could do it is "indefinitely". It's really inexpensive for them, especially compared to the value of winning. Disney's operating budget is like 90 billion dollars per year. The lawsuits are a rounding error.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

The alleged “scheme” seems to my entirely untrained eyes like at least a potential for poor optics. Essentially it’s Disney giving away free passes to RCID employees but doing it in a way that avoids some taxes and also has others footing part of the bill, no? I guess there would have been an...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

This is a heavily skewed and generally false analysis of the situation.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

How are you imagining there are shenanigans with the mileage rate on an assessment they have never been involved in?

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

The mistake in your bolded statement above is that it relies on an assumption that Disney World’s situation now has in some way been brought in line with other entities in the state. The reality is that they were not previously in a uniquely advantageous position. But they are now in a...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

I don’t see a settlement like that ever making sense for Disney. There’s no reason for them to agree to a district where they pay all these extra taxes and the majority control is by people not affected by them at all. A realistic settlement would have to be pretty complex and also would have...

A little rant about the 60 day ADR prejudice against DVC owners

Yikes! There’s no cancellation fee here but if it’s worth the 50 bucks to you, you don’t need to put every person on the hotel reservation. Just one person who will be the lead person on all the dining reservations.
