Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Having worked at both Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm as an adult I can tell you that expectation standards are similar but the quality of the workers at Disneyland and the enforcement of those standards is higher there than at Knott’s. I’m very fond of Knott’s so I found that disappointing.

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

My suspicion is that most of the west side of the resort will become more attraction and theme park oriented and the Toy Story parking lot will become more hotel and convention focused. They could easily remove all the older convention facilities from the Disneyland Hotel in favor of new and...

News Did I miss a memo? Since when does Disney make "rides" rather than "attractions"?

    Status/future of the Hyperion

What is sad to me resort-wide is what TDA has forgotten about regarding live entertainment: it’s still far less expensive to mount than an attraction. Which means they can continually change and update it to keep the parks experience feeling fresh. That applies to stage shows, parades and small...

New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

My suspicion is that There’s a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow is going to be the climactic theme song for Walt: A Magical Life.

Pixar Fest Was Fun, Fun, Fun!... May It Live In Our Hearts Forever!

One reason I have a Magic Key is to enjoy repeat viewings of parades and fireworks spectaculars. I especially love Disney parades. So, context established … I was very disappointed in the Better Together parade and was done after one viewing. As for the revised Together Forever fireworks, while...

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

I experienced the attraction on Tuesday. The new graveyard scrim was pristine and several AAs seemed much more active than in past years.

That extra parade building is now actively used for the Cars characters and WOC maintenance. Of course, it could still easily be replaced elsewhere. I just thought I’d mention it.

Rumor Disney 100: Great Moments with Uncle Walt to Replace Mr. Lincoln

I was born in 1960 too. At first the thought of a Walt AA made me wary but the perspective you gave us on The American Adventure figures and the understanding that he’s being forgotten has changed my mind. My one hope is that they create a very good sculpt of his features. Presumably they will...

Now that you’ve shown those wonderful pictures, I remember they did refer to it as Wonder Bowl. I’d misremembered that. What a shame we lost that amazing design!

I believe that the building in the lower corner was a bowling alley. It became storage for the park’s Christmas decor and a home for black widows (so I was told) and referred to as CalBowl.

Is Jamba Juice still there? That was day-one store, wasn’t it? I haven’t been in DTD since pre-pandemic days.

    All things Knotts Berry Farm

As a child (in the 60’s) my grandmother took me to the original Bob Baker marionette theater. It’s really amazing and a kick that they are still performing!

They sell wooden cap guns and rifles as well. The same type of guns from the same manufacturer that Disneyland used to sell.
