Getting Pooped On While In the Parks

Never in the parks but many years ag, April, 1964, I was on the USS Patch headed home from Germany. Stepped out on deck hoping to see the White Cliffs and splat, right on my face and shoulder. Spent the rest of the 7 day trip avoiding barf on the ladders and gangways. Bird poop is no big deal.

Are the nets still up at the Tree of Life?

Google "disney tree of life branch fell and you'll get several articles including an Orlando Sentinal article quoting Disney. I recall a statement from Disney on a national news station too. Right now, assuming Disney has not acknowledged the incident nor made a comment says to me, "oh well...

    Other than the World...

We do Disney once of twice a year but will typically go somewhere else also. Myrtle Beech is a favorite and last year we did Branson and loved it. In fact we plan on going back next year. Two years ago we went to Mt Rushmore and Custer State Park. Rushmore is fabulous. And I finally got to see...

Getting enough water in the parks/collapsible water bottles

We carry the Brita water bottles and just fill them at water fountains. They do a great job of filtering out the taste of Florida water.

Disney Dining Options while NOT on the Disney Dining Plan

First, we all have differing concepts of what is expensive. We've never used the dining plan as we're off site and we eat breakfast at our villa and either grill or eat dinner at an ouside restaurant. We do eat lunch at a TS restaurant and, as Mukta said, we don't look at the price. We're on...

    Did another DVC meeting

That is how we're doing it to get a big trip with our points. We are banking points from one of our weeks and banking the points we get at the start of the year. If you are willing to be patient you can do a lot with fewer points.

    Did another DVC meeting

That is what I figured and it is pretty much the way points work at Marriott. We're also owners of two legacy weeks (2 bedroom units) and they automatically bank points every year so our bank grows quickly.

Florida Tax Free Weekend - Aug 3-5

Okay, we're arriving on Saturday the 4th for 2 weeks. We're staying off-site so we'll be doing grocery shopping. I really can't recall if food is taxed or not but that would be a nice savings if it is.

WDW 2012 Fashion Critique For Men

So what is appropriate theme park/resort fashion? I think I'll print out rsoxguy's list to use as a guide to dress when we're in the parks this trip. :p

Ten Things I have to eat (or drink) at Disney on this visit

I have to add that, while I don't drink (20 years sober), I'll be buying a pint or to for Crush Dude at the Rose & Crown.

    Rose And Crown Experiences?!?!?

I mentioned our meal there last trip and I had excellent fish & chips. We usually spend a full day in World Showcase. There is so much to see including great entertainment.

RnR a bad idea for my first "real" coaster?

My wife is a big coaster fan. I told her I would ride any coaster with her as long as it didn't put me upside down. Long story short, we go on RnRC not knowing (she says) that it had loops and corkscrews. When it was over I had to ask her if we went upside down. The plus is that my wife hates...

    Fat guys and attractions

I'm 6'4" and 280. The only ride I've had a problem with is it's a Small World. I think that's because I was in the front seat of the boat and my knees were jammed against my chest. Space Mountain is a tight fit. I've not done Astro Orbiter.
