Pleasure Island - No Return Entry into Clubs

Thanks for the explanations and insights, Luckyeye13. Knowing the rationale behind the policy changes really does help me adjust and adapt to the changes. I think its just good customer service practice to provide customers, especially regular, loyal customers, explanations as to changes in the...

Pleasure Island - No Return Entry into Clubs

For me, the worse thing that could happen is if the entire PI complex of dance clubs closed, and I doubt that it would ever happen because of a few rowdy incidents. PI is the most secure complex I have ever seen; that's one of the reasons I am attracted to the place - I feel safe there. I...

Pleasure Island - No Return Entry into Clubs

OK, but why doesn't this new policy apply to the 8 Trax club? Explain the inconsistency please. Also, I can see changing the policy if the problem had a history of recurring, but to change a long-standing policy as a direct response of underage kids sneaking into one the clubs JUST ONE night...

Pleasure Island - No Return Entry into Clubs

Yes, I'm glad you mentioned City Walk. I am starting to frequent City Walk more often these days. Also, City Walk clubs DO ALLOW return entries after you initially get your ID checked and wrist band applied and then stamped - no waiting in line to re-enter the same club, but I think you do have...

Pleasure Island - No Return Entry into Clubs

Clarification Let me add to what I already stated for clarification sake. For over the past 3 years I have been clubbing at PI on Friday and Saturday nights. Up until recently, after a cast member at the club entrance checks my ID and annual pass and applies the wrist band, all I had to do to...

Pleasure Island - No Return Entry into Clubs

Does anyone know the rationale behind the "No Return Entry" rule that has recently been in effect (except for 8 Trax)? It's kind of frustrating and not much fun to have to stand in line all over again every time you decide to enter a different club. It's not such a big deal early in the...

R.I.P Rock & Roll Beach Club

Live Band at Motions I noticed that there was a live band on stage at Motions last night - maybe it was in lieu of the closing of RRBC.

More changes to P.I. and to DTD

Orlando Sentinel Article 1-21-07 There is an article in the business section of the Orlando Sentinel about the closing of RRBC and the near future opening of that block along the water that has been vacant for over a year.

    Pleasure Island Clubs To Close?

More Recent Improvements Recently, Sammy Duval's store "CURL" opened. It adds a little more life to the PI thoroughfare with a brightly lit storefront and illuminated posters along the side wall. I wish the other vacancies were filled to add even more life. I like the bigger flat screen...

LOL Universal compares them self better than disney

Unfair Comparison With regards to the Dining & Entertainment comparison, did you notice how Universal conveniently left out all the Pleasure Island clubs as well as Raglan Road and the new Cigar Bar; yet thet included their City Walk clubs in the comparison. The comparison is way out of wack.

Pleasure Island since the security crackdown

Crackdown I go there every weekend and notice more of a presence of security and never encounter and/or observe any problems. Stop by and have fun.

Pleasure Island opens new cigar bar

Pipe Smoker Saw some women smokin' pipes in the Woodstock 1969 documentary - yeah, they looked sexy - in a mellow sort of way. :)

Two tourists abducted, robbed after leaving Downtown Disney

Ghetto Crowd I, a white guy, go to the BET Soundstage just about every Friday and Saturday night as well as 8 Trax, Motion, and Mannequins. I don't know if any of the patrons at the Soundstage club are from the ghetto or not, never asked, and don't really care; but I do know that the crowd...

Two tourists abducted, robbed after leaving Downtown Disney

DTD Parking Lot Well, all I know is that I have been parking in the DTD parking lot just about every Friday and Saturday night until around 1am in the morning for the past 3 years +. I feel its relatively safe there. I always see security patrolling the parking lot on bike, by van, by golf...

    Hey Mr (Pleasure Island) DJ!!

Kinda True Just this past weekend, the DJ in the booth flagged me and said that she was going to play a song that I had requested once about a year ago - ha ha what an awesome memory she has - by the way the song was "Born Too Slow" by Crystal Method

    A better PI

I miss the Jazz Club too, however, I use to attend every weekend for their last 2 years in existence and never once have I seen a packed house. Now, I stop by Raglan Road every weekend for a pint of Guinness and the place is always packed. So, from a business point of view, Disney made the right...

    City Walk or Pleasure Island?

Every once in a while now, PI will have a live band on that stage near the water on the side of Mannequins. However, City Walk does have the edge over PI as far as free live bands outside. The Orange Avenue Band usually performs on the outside Plaza Stage at City Walk just about every Fri and Sat.

    City Walk

Parking is free after 6pm; I think it's $7 before 6pm. It cost to get into clubs. Restaurants are free too
