    Dubailand vs WDW

I'm never traveling to the Middle East by choice no matter how many theme parks they have! :D

    Question about first timers.

I always see people walking around with a button that says "my first visit" and when castmembers see them, they are super nice to them. That's the only thing I've noticed, but I'm sure there's more. Visit guest services before you enter every park and I'm sure they will tell you everything.

    New Trip In Future

Well you've gotta wait over 2 years for the 40th.... so I'd say it's probably not worth it, unless you typically only travel to WDW every 3 or 4 years anyway. Why not go this year, and then go back in a couple years after Space Mountain 2.0 is up and running?!

    Jungle Cruise??

Yes that's true. Haunted Mansion bad is when you watch the whole thing, but you leave the theater with a bitter taste in your mouth. Country Bears bad is when you leave the theater before the opening credits even finish, and demand the manager for a refund. In fact, didn't Disneyland close...

    Jungle Cruise??

Point taken.... I wouldn't really count Tower of Terror though, because wasn't that a made-for-Disney-Channel flick? I wouldn't count a movie to be a flop unless it gets the full attention and budget of a theatrical release. The 2nd and 3rd Pirates were entertaining at times, but the...

    Cinderella's Castle Crane???

At least they aren't installing a wand!

Build your own Disney World park!

This is amazing! Thanks for the link. :sohappy:

    Jungle Cruise??

As a matter of fact, I had totally forgotten about the Country Bears movie until you just brought it up! So are you assuming that the Jungle Cruise movie will be a flop, even though it hasn't come out yet and we know virtually nothing about it? Being the optimist that I am, I have my fingers...

    arrest at EPCOT

It's amazing how some people can't find a way to behave and abide by the law even when they are spending a day in the Most Magical Place on Earth! I can't imagine the kinds of things this "dude" must do when he's not in WDW....

Interesting Idea Regarding Busch Gardens and Disney

Yeah I don't really understand why they think a park based on Old Europe could easily be converted to Disneys America. That makes no sense.... Of course, the location of Colonial Williamsburg might be a good area for Disney's America, given its rich American History. That's probably the basis...

    DHS Observations 8/31/08

Thanks for the report! I had a quick trip to DHS a couple weeks ago and never got a chance to ride TSMM because wait times were minimum 90 minutes (posted). We kept checking back and hoping for the wait times to decrease, but they never did, and foolishly we ran out of time. Dumbest move I ever...

    2 parks 1 day?

You didn't specify, but if this is your first ever visit to DLR, I wouldn't recommend it. It can be done, but you probably won't have time to see everything, especially since you will be there on a weekend. You'll have time to hit all the E-tickets in both parks and maybe some extras, but...

TL and FL Updates at MK

I personally don't think TL needs as much help thematically as FL does. I'd like to see FL look more like DL's version. They should committ to the Bavarian village style, rather than the lackluster midieval look that most of the buildings currently use. I know that other looks have been...

    Favorite Restaurant

I vote for the San Angel Inn. Try the Carne Asada. It will keep you coming back for more on every trip!

You should see what this guy made!!!

How come his Soarin' already has a new video, while Epcot has been putting this off for how long?? My next WDW vacation will be at Minnesota's Minicot! :p

    Favorite Alcoholic bev at DLR?

I haven't tried the mint julep in New Orleans Square, but I'm assuming it's non-alcoholic, since Disneyland Park is a dry park. Where's the fun in a non-alcoholic mint julep?

    Italian food

I'm a little picky since I'm an Italian/American, but the Italian food at Disney has always been a major weakness. Alfredo's was never any good IMO, but I haven't tried the new Tutto Italia so I can't speak for it (I've heard a few poor reviews, though). Tony's town Square at MK is average at...

    Disneyland Trip Planner

    1. If you find a good neighbor hotel in walking distance, that will virtually eliminate the benefits of staying on site. The only on site hotel that seems truly special is the Grand Californian. The other two don't seem heavily themed at all. Everything in DLR is smaller and closer together than...

    WDW Project Tracker

I remember hearing that the old subs have been destroyed, at least most of them have been. Apparently for a while they had a couple of them sunken in the snorkeling area of the DCL private island, but I've heard those were removed as well. If they build a new 20k attraction they will have to...

    The Great Movie Ride gone?

In my experience, it seems like the people who enjoy GMR the most are those from the baby boomer generation, who grew up with the classics depicted throughout the ride, but are also young and "with the times" enough to have seen the newer films as well. My mother is from this generation and...
