Effect of Brexit on WDW attendance?

I really hope you're right. I deleted my other, longer post about this because I appreciate that, so soon after the result, some of it sounded a bit hysterical on reflection and this probably isn't the right platform for an in depth political discussion. In the immediate aftermath of today's...

Effect of Brexit on WDW attendance?

What you see as negativity I would regard as justifiable concerns and questions about our future. Maybe my fears are misplaced and misguided, time will tell. I can't argue with the result, we undertook a democratic process and elected to leave. Whether or not I agree with it is irrelevant...

Effect of Brexit on WDW attendance?

I think and fear your faith is horribly misplaced.

'One Man's Dream' to show preview of 'Pete's Dragon'

Can One Man's Dream just show One Man's Dream again? I went to WDW with some first-time visitors who aren't huge Disney fans last month who loved the exhibits and sat through the Alice in Wonderland preview. On the way out they all said that they'd have loved to have seen a documentary about...

Effect of Brexit on WDW attendance?

In the long-term it very well might. I think we've made a monumental mistake. The outlook for our country looks very uncertain, and bleak to a certain extent, as things stand now.

WDW Taking a Hit Over Gator and Massacre ...

I'm sure the alligator-related things will return in time. Whether full access to beaches at the resorts will remains to be seen. But it wouldn't surprise me if the fences they've since put up do remain permanently.

    Frozen Ever After opening day

The AAs look fantastic. The attraction as a whole looks to be a quality dark ride, a very nice addition. When I look at what they've done with this little pocket of land I can't help but wonder what they could have achieved with more space, creating a Frozen expansion at Fantasyland. Putting...

DHS Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I'm sold. If the end result doesn't fit together like that I think I'll be disappointed having seen this.

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

In the long-term? Nobody can say for certain right now. Disney have put up the fences in the immediate aftermath of what has happened. They had to, there was always going to be some form of precautionary response made in the wake of this incident and fences and signs are the simplest and most...

Guest Behavior at Disney's Polynesian Village & Swampalows

I've never stayed there myself so I hadn't been aware of that, another poster mentioned the ones at Animal Kingdom Lodge earlier so maybe they are an option for the Polynesian bungalows as well.

Guest Behavior at Disney's Polynesian Village & Swampalows

That was my initial concern with such an idea but I wasn't aware that they have cameras on balconies at resorts elsewhere on property.

Guest Behavior at Disney's Polynesian Village & Swampalows

I didn't know that. Perhaps installing them on the bungalow balconies is an option for Disney then, it definitely would seem the most obvious step to take as both a deterrent and a means of catching anyone who violates any policy that prohibits feeding wildlife.

Guest Behavior at Disney's Polynesian Village & Swampalows

I can't see them getting rid of the bungalows entirely but then I don't know how Disney go about about ensuring that people don't throw food from them into the lagoon. Putting cameras on and around them is an option but does that then open up a separate can of worms if people staying in them...

Guest Behavior at Disney's Polynesian Village & Swampalows

The questions I would ask are how does Disney catch the people who might be inclined to feed the animals and subsequently how strict do they make the penalties for violating a "don't feed the animals" policy if they want to enforce it?

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

Some have plumbed new depths tonight. A child dies so Disney puts up a temporary fence and they're complaining that if effects their views. I've said it already but it sums up my response to them quite adequately (and wouldn't get me reprimanded my a moderator if I said what I really think)...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

You call a fence drastic? I'm not interested in hypothetical scenarios. This isn't about shark attacks, they're completely and utterly irrelevant to this discussion about an incident on Disney property and the response that Disney have taken to it. They could have permanently closed the...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

A child has been killed on the shoreline of a Disney lagoon by an alligator and Disney have done the simplest, most obvious thing they could in response and put up a fence and more signs as a short-term measure. And you think that that is pandering to the public and trying to force people to...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

Wow. A child has just died and some people here are actually upset that Disney have responded by putting up a fence in what may only be a short-term measure as an immediate response. I don't know whether to be shocked, angry or just laugh. Maybe a combination of all three is appropriate.

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

Complaining about the aesthetic impact made by these fences, which might well be a temporary measure, in light of what has happened to cause them to be put in place seems to be missing the bigger picture here. Is Disney sealing off access to the water that a child died in just a couple of days...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

There is a huge difference between "safety proofing everything" and taking steps to prevent there ever being a second fatality as a result of an alligator attack on Walt Disney World property. This isn't a question of removing every threat posed by local wildlife that make their way on to...
