Keys to the Kingdom tour worth it?

Like everyone else, I very much enjoyed this tour, and would recommend it. Be aware though that there's not quite as much backstage stuff as you might expect. It was probably 75% history and less than 25% backstage. For us the backstage portions consisted of: A visit to the facility where...

    Timezone changes

I haven't been in the situation, but after reading the quoted portion, I think you've already got your answer. As you said, it's only an hour, so it's not like it will disrupt mom and dad's schedule. And given how difficult DST was -- well, just remember, if you do switch to FL time you're...

When Will The Sounds Of Summer 2011 Lineup Be Announced?

That's consistent with what I'm used to seeing with the other bands they book for this series. And it's probably especially important for a band like yours, given the distinctive vocals that characterize Heart's music. I gotta say, I am really looking forward to hearing you guys. Thanks for...

Daily Walt Disney Weather For You!

I was thinking of Jeff Day on Brighthouse channel 13. Anyway, good luck with your twitter thing. Seems like it could be a useful tool for someone traveling in the resort with just a mobile phone for information - though it seems like you're going to be spending about a third of the year tied...

    MK in June

Maybe check the MK hours at disneyworld.com. It's not as detailed or specific as a crowd calendar, but as a general rule the later MK is open, the more people they are expecting that day. It will give you a very general idea of what to expect in terms of crowds.

When Will The Sounds Of Summer 2011 Lineup Be Announced?

I'm looking forward to these, which I believe are new additions. And I'm glad my favorites from years past (2U and Slippery When Wet) are coming back.

Daily Walt Disney Weather For You!

So - would any of us recognize you from TV? I'm thinking of a weather guy named Jeff - but your profile description as "part time" weather guy implies you're not him. Maybe you know who I'm talking about...

    Wishes and Tinkerbell

Echoing what others are saying about the Tomorrowland bridge. I'll add however that if you don't mind having your view of the castle obscured, stand in the spot where the tree blocks your view. The fireworks will appear to the right of the tree so your view of them will be unobstructed; Tink...

MK fireworks - tinkerbell, or blue fairy??

Yeah, that's right. Tink coincides with the start of the pyrotechnics. The Blue Fairy comes in at the end to save us from the villains.

Has anyone ever used AAA to buy park tickets?

They have small discounts on certain tickets and packages. We get our FL resident AP renewal there every year. It saves us around $11 per ticket.

Can my fiance go on the rides?

I know. Forgot the smiley :)

Can my fiance go on the rides?

Are you sure?? Because I'm positive it comes with a quarter inch of my head, and I'm 3" shorter than this guy! I duck every single time, I just can't stop myself.

MK fireworks - tinkerbell, or blue fairy??

Asked and answered - it's Tink. The Blue Fairy is part of the show, but comes later. Also already answered. If you need "proof", consider that the tram spiel on the way in from the parking lot (which I realize lots of people probably never hear) includes the scheduled events for the evening...

    experimental entry system @ Epcot

I can't remember whether it was Universal Orlando, or Great Adventure in NJ, but I remember having an annual/season pass somewhere that, when you renewed, you kept using your existing pass. It was the size and shape of a credit card, and had your picture on it. I would consider that a...

    experimental entry system @ Epcot

Understood. But these are Guest Services CMs I'm referring to. I don't know the internals of their system, but if there was a database error, the bar code would probably fail also. If the number is no longer properly associated with my record in the database, it wouldn't matter whether the...

Can my fiance go on the rides?

I'm 6'3", 240. Astro Orbiter (as has already been mentioned) is out for me, so definitely for him. Space Mountain and Big Thunder are just-barely for me, so he might want to think twice about those as well. I'm trying to think of other rides where I'm uncomfortable, or just-barely...

    experimental entry system @ Epcot

I tend to believe them about the cards being demagnetized, only because the two times I had to get my cards replaced, it wasn't just at the turnstiles, and it wasn't intermittent. Once they stopped working, they did so completely, both at the turnstiles (no big deal because of the bar code)...

    experimental entry system @ Epcot

Same here. I hadn't had a problem for close to 10 years. The first time was no more than a year ago, and the second time was no more than a couple of months after that, and I hadn't done anything differently. Just relaying what I was told by CMs.

    Mythbusting, Disney style

I'd never heard this one before, but along those lines I did hear, long ago, that the statues atop the Swan and Dolphin hotels could be retracted in the event of an approaching storm. I can't find any reference to this one way or another, leading me to believe it's false. Anyone know for sure...

    Mission Space question

Everything you say is true, but for some people motion sickness is triggered by the fact that their eyes are telling them one thing (that they're shooting straight up into the air for example) while their inner ear is telling them something else (that they're spinning in a circle).
