I've been to the Universal one (Halloween Horror Nights) and it's pretty intense. I wouldn't suggest bringing a kid there, it's very die-hard scare the crap out of you experience. You're also allowed liquor throughout the park, with booths set up to sell it and they have waitresses with trays...
